The "integrated education" of Zhuzhou No. 61 Chinese and English Primary School (hereinafter referred to as "No. 6 Primary") can be traced back to the early nineties of the last century. Because of the admission of children with special disabilities, it became a well-known ordinary elementary school in the country at that time. This also creates a model for ordinary schools in our city to carry out the work of studying in the same class.
By building a support service system under the development model of the life community of integrated education, the city's in-class study is being upgraded to integrated education, forming a new pattern of education development with the integration of Pute and the integration of family, school and society. In recent years, in the process of promoting the development of integrated education, Zhuzhou has experienced the transformation of the implementation subject from "special schools" to "ordinary schools".
Since 2015, in accordance with the spirit of the national document, the city has successively promulgated the first and second phases of the "Implementation Plan for the Improvement of Special Education in Zhuzhou City", which requires "comprehensively promoting inclusive (integrated) education". The Municipal Special School cooperated with the Municipal Education Bureau to formulate the "Five-Year Plan for Integrated Education in Zhuzhou City" to orient the development of integrated education. At the same time, the city's special schools took the lead in setting up a leadership team and a professional team to visit ordinary primary and secondary schools in the city to understand the integrated education of disabled students in an all-round way.
In order to upgrade and improve the quality of integrated education, in 2019, the city launched the "Golden Ribbon" integration action. The "Zhuzhou City Integrated Education Action Plan" was promulgated, calling on ordinary primary and secondary schools in the city to implement it, establish an integrated education quality evaluation system, integrate professional resources and build a resource library, and explore the "one school, one case" characteristic integrated education model that adapts to the common growth of disabled children and ordinary children.

Yi Mengjie, born in the 90s, works in the sixth elementary school, and in 2020, she became the only "resource teacher" in the school.
Judging by the name alone, it's hard to guess what it's for. In fact, under the integrated education system, resource teachers are an important bridge between special education and general education, not only responsible for individual tutoring and remedial teaching for special children, but also providing consultation and support services to ordinary class teachers and parents.
Yi Mengjie introduced that the resource classrooms in the school are used to assist the teaching of special students, and the facilities are well-equipped. At the same time, a model has been formed with resource teachers as the guide, special student class teachers and subject teachers as the mainstay, and all teachers participating in integrated education. The integrated education work is mainly based on the study with the class, and the combination of centralized compensation classes and individual students, and the awareness of integration has been transmitted to all corners of the campus.
Each special student also has a personal file, which is not only an academic track record, but also an important basis for the teacher to set the course format. Yi Mengjie said that the teachers of the classes of the students who study with the class are the teachers who accompany the special students in their daily Xi, life and growth. For example, if there are students with hearing impairments in a class, the teaching interaction design will be different from other classes. For students with intellectual disabilities and other special academic abilities, centralized compensation classes will be arranged in resource classrooms no less than twice a week.
Today, such a model is being rolled out in more and more campuses in our city. According to the data, the number of ordinary schools implementing integrated education in the compulsory education stage of the city has increased from 60% in 2016 to about 80%, covering the whole of Zhuzhou. The number of integrated education schools has also increased from 14 to 32. The schooling rate of children with disabilities in the city is 9796%, the global pattern of integrated education has been basically formed.
A class meeting of "melting ice".
Cancan (pseudonym), who is severely deaf in both ears, was transferred to Shuangtang Central Primary School in Sifen Town, Liling when he was in the third grade. As a result, in the eyes of other children, Cancan is a dull and withdrawn child, and he is reluctant to talk to him, and Cancan gradually feels lonely and unwilling to communicate with others.
The teachers found that in the classroom, because the teacher had to take care of the vast majority of the children in the class, many teaching methods could not be carried out according to the characteristics of the hearing-impaired children, and Cancan did not hear much information and had a short attention span, resulting in his inability to keep up with the teaching process.
Knowing Cancan's situation and changes, after seeking Cancan's mother's opinion, the class held a special class meeting. At the meeting, the mother introduced Cancan's growth experience, and at the same time let the students know about the "strange thing" that Cancan wears - hearing aids. Mom told everyone that Cancan is trying to overcome difficulties and listen and talk with everyone, hoping that everyone can understand Cancan and help him work together.
After listening to their mother's explanation, the children no longer felt that Cancan was strange, and enthusiastically offered to help him.
After this class meeting, Cancan quickly integrated into this class collective. Cancan's mother said that home-school communication is very important, and only by letting everyone understand the real situation of Cancan and dispel everyone's curiosity, they will accept Cancan very enthusiastically and sincerely help this child who is different from herself.
"Fusion" into a community of life.
The good news continues to inspire families with children with disabilities.
In 2021, the Zhuzhou Municipal Education Bureau, together with multiple departments in the city, established the Zhuzhou Special Education Expert Committee, which is responsible for the daily organization and management of the Special Education Expert Committee, and conducts a comprehensive and standardized assessment of the physical condition, education and ability to adapt to school Xi life of children with disabilities in accordance with relevant standards, so as to ensure that all kinds of children with disabilities are reasonably placed and better receive integrated education.
In May this year, the city also relied on the city's special school to set up the Zhuzhou Special Education Resource Center, introduced relevant systems and measures, strengthened system management, and ensured the orderly operation of integrated education. The five districts and four counties of our city have also successively established special education resource centers in various districts and counties, so as to build a first-class administrative support and guarantee system of "Municipal Education Bureau, District and County Education Bureau, and Classes and Schools", and the city's integrated education management network has gradually taken shape.
In September this year, the city once again organized the qualification training of teachers integrating educational resources to improve the quality and ability of Zhuzhou resource teachers.
Just last month, the Municipal Special Education Resource Center organized more than 50 people, including members of the He Guo Special Education Studio of Zhuzhou City and a team of experts from the Municipal Special School Education Evaluation, to carry out the "Joint Research and Inclusion" evaluation and guidance activities with more than 50 teachers, including the Hetang District Special Education Resource Center and the Hetang District Integrated Education School.
