A person with the highest cultivation is like water. Water is good at nourishing all things without competing with all things, and stays in places where no one wants to live, so its realm is very close to the "Tao". This kind of person is good at choosing a lowly place to live, good at keeping quiet and unfathomable, always sincere, friendly and selfless in treating people, always able to abide by credit in speech, always able to govern the country well, good at doing things to give full play to his strengths, and good at seizing the opportunity in action. Just because we don't fight with all things, we don't attract blame and resentment.
Lao Tzu admired water most in all things in nature, believing that water virtue is close to the Tao. Why is the water virtue close to the Tao?
In this regard, Wang Fuzhi understands it like this: "Of the five elements, water is the smallest. Those who are good at dwelling in the Tao are small and not for them; After the public, and often before the public. The impression of the water is very good. It nourishes all things, gives life to them, and causes them to grow and multiply. It is clean and cleans, and it cleanses away all the filth of the world. It flows without a direction, full of life and vitality. It is colorless and transparent, but it can reflect the sky and the earth. It is all-encompassing, treats all things as equal, and has no partiality. It is wonderful and pure, and it constitutes a picturesque ......
The flow of water, which vividly interprets the passage of time, symbolizes infinite wisdom and reveals something bigger and more fundamental to us. I only hope that our intellect will always be like water, smart and clear, and never dry up.
In this chapter, Lao Tzu also uses the seven characters of "goodness" to explain the virtue of water in detail, which is actually an introduction to the character that a "sage" should have. In the end, he came to the conclusion that the essence of being a human being is "indisputable". In other words, it is better to live in a position where others do not want to live, than to compete with others for profit, so that they will not attract the blame and resentment of others.
Good place. Water is good at finding its own position, not fighting for the top but willing to go down. It is advisable to go down, and look down with your eyes.
Kindness of heart. Water has a broad mind and is very tolerant. There is a large tolerance, do not narrow and closed, rat belly chicken intestines.
With kindness. Be good to others, not evil to others;Accomplish all things without destroying anything.
Words are good and faithful. Shui does what he says, walks with the voice, does not exaggerate, and never deceives the world and steals his name.
Good governance. Water can meet people's drinking needs, it can also drive waterwheels to promote production, and many other things. Water has its own rules and regulations, and is stable and sustainable. If we can govern in accordance with this law, we can avoid disturbing the people and harming the people.
Good things can be done. Water is good at exerting its strengths, such as energy, flushing, floating load, irrigation, washing, dissolving, conditioning, etc.
When to do good. Before the time comes, we will never act rashly; When the time comes, we should act immediately and never be insensitive.
River Gong: The good man is like the nature of water. Water is mist and dew in the sky, and the source is in the earth. The people are despicable, damp and dirty, and the water lives alone. Water-based is almost the same as Daotong. Water is good at the earth. Above the grass and trees, that is, flowing down, there is like a tree, and people are also moving. The water is deep and empty, and the abyss is deep and clear. All things have water to live, and there is no surplus with nothingness. The shadow in the water is invisible, without losing its feelings. Nothing is washed, clean and flat. It can be round, straight and straight. Summer scatters and winter condenses, moving according to schedule, without losing the time. If it is strong, it will stop, and if it is decided, it will flow, and listen to people. Water is like this, so there is no one in the world who complains about water.
Zhu Yuanzhang: People can visit virtuous people, and they can fulfill their virtues, and they live in many places with good people, and their hearts and good deeds are widespread. If you discuss faith and deeds with good people, then there is no one who cannot be cured in political affairs, so good governance. Since you know the wisdom of governing the way, all things are good and can be created. and its movement, it will be in due course. Those who have a good heart in the abyss before are inexhaustible with their accumulation of goodness, like the form of an abyss.
