On the occasion of the 32nd International Day of Persons with Disabilities (3 December), this story of the blind man Zhang Hong's ascent of Mount Everest carries more meaning. The chairman of the China Disabled Persons' Federation** said that the story of Zhang Hong's climb to Mount Everest has taught every disabled friend a very vivid practical lesson.

At 11:15 Beijing time on May 24, 2021, Zhang Hong, a blind Chinese climber, successfully reached the summit from the south face of Mount Everest, becoming the first blind climber in Asia and the third in the world to reach the summit of Mount Everest. Director Fan Lixin spent 3 years recording Zhang Hong's process from the preliminary preparation and training, running in with the guide, climbing Mount Everest, and finally successfully reaching the summit. The documentary film "The Invisible Peak" was released nationwide on October 27 this year.
In the post-screening meeting, director Fan Lixin, protagonist Zhang Hong and his wife Xia Qiong shared the behind-the-scenes story of the filming. Fan Lixin still remembers the first time he met Zhang Hong and asked him a question: "If you can't see it, why do you still want to climb Mount Everest?"He said calmly, "Although I can't see the world, I want the world to see me." At that time, Fan Lixin felt like he had been struck by lightning and decided to shoot this story. In the process of climbing Mount Everest, Zhang Hong made many friends and opened his heart all of a sudden. He realized that when he is truly willing to open himself up and give trust and love to others, others will give back to him. And since Zhang Hong made the decision to climb Mount Everest, his wife Xia Qiong was the first person to support him, and in Xia Qiong's view, "everyone has the right to pursue their dreams".
Liu Junsheng, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the Beijing News, who is also the co-producer and chief planner of the documentary film "The Invisible Peak", shared his initial feelings when he saw the film after the screening. In 2022, when he watched this movie for the first time, the title of the film was still "Let the World See Me", and he was deeply moved by the spirit of the protagonist Zhang Hong at that time, which made him truly appreciate how many tribulations a blind man went through to climb Mount Everest. This documentary film took three years to follow and shoot, and the biggest difference between it and other films is that there is no posing in the whole process, and what is presented to the audience is the most real side. Liu Junsheng hopes that through the power of **, more audiences will see this film, and the Beijing News will also become the co-producer of the film.
Liu Junsheng said that tomorrow (December 3) is the 32nd International Day of Persons with Disabilities, and the organization of this movie-watching activity today may have more important significance, everyone will have a common understanding after watching the film, one is that Zhang Hong has a dream-making, dream-chasing, and dream-realizing process in climbing Mount Everest, showing a persistent and firm belief, he firmly believes that he will be able to climb to the top of the faith, which moved the audience, and as news, this concept must also be disseminated. The second is that the film truly embodies the spirit of courage to climb. Ordinary people walk on a smooth road, and they will encounter many difficulties and setbacks, but Zhang Hong climbed one different peak after another, overcame difficulties, and finally climbed to the top in his heart. This courage to climb is not something that can be achieved simply in one or two sentences, but one step at a time. The third is the team spirit of unity and friendship reflected in the film. The mountaineering guide Qiangzi and the photographer, because of the lack of oxygen, gave up the final ascent in order to realize Zhang Hong's dream, and Zhang Hong's lover Xia Qiong has been silently supporting and trusting her husband and giving spiritual support, so that Zhang Hong can finally realize his dream.
Liu Junsheng feels that as a ** person, it is an honor to participate in this **. The whole film was shot for more than 360 hours, and finally cut into a 90-minute film, with a lot of material discarded in between. Liu Junsheng hopes that the wonderful materials that were cut out before can be cut into different small ** and presented to more audiences. At present, the documentary film "The Invisible Peak" is still being screened in commercial theaters across the country, and Liu Junsheng hopes that more families can enter the theater and continue to have the courage to overcome difficulties and keep climbing after watching the film.
The chairman of the China Disabled Persons' Federation** also participated in the movie-watching event, and he also shared his experience of watching the movie at the event. He said that Zhang Hong climbed to the top in an invisible way, but he let everyone see that he reached the summit of Mount Everest, and such an artistic presentation is completed in a realistic way, which is not only behind the social tolerance, the support of the creative team, but also the courage and will of Zhang Hong and his wife Xia Qiong to face difficulties.
There is a line in the film that impresses **: "As long as you work hard, all jokes can become myths." * I think that Zhang Hong's process of climbing Mount Everest has proved this, myths can be created, as long as we stick to courage, have all kinds of support and friendship, especially the family members will not abandon it, we will be able to better combine the "sea" and "mountain", so that we have greater courage to face all the uncertainties of life.
* said that this year is still a very special year, the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the China Association of the Blind. Today's movie viewing activity is also a very good portrayal of the 70 years of the China Association of the Blind, which has continuously led the blind brothers and sisters to overcome the darkness and move towards the light. ** said that the story of Zhang Hong's climb to Mount Everest has taught every disabled friend a very vivid practical lesson, and at the same time, it can also provide more life thinking for everyone. **Willing to share the story of Zhang Hong and Xia Qiong with the China Disabled Persons' Federation and brothers and sisters across the country. He believes that with the screening of this film, the living environment of the disabled and the development environment of the disabled cause will definitely get better and better, and he also looks forward to this day to be able to patronize every disabled person and friends in need.
