During the election campaign, Ko Wenzhe not only attacked his rivals, but also expressed his support for cross-strait exchanges. He accused "Hou Kangpei" of being a "reunification faction" and hinted that after Hou Youyi takes office, the Taiwan region may turn to the mainland. At the same time, he also criticized Lai Qingde as a "turtle grandson" and tried to win the support of those voters who opposed it.
