The atrocities of the Japanese in Changshantang

Xiang Senyan In mid-April 1945, the Japanese invading troops that had penetrated deep into Suining County fled to our county one after another. Where the iron hooves go, the house is in ruins, and the lives are devastated. His heinous crimes are hard to write. Here is only a brief account of their brutal act of exterminating humanity in Changshantang. Changshantang is located between the water chestnut field and Zhushi Town, about 5 miles away from the water chestnut and about 10 miles away from the bamboo market, and was a village with 40 houses and about 400 residents. It carries the green mountains on its back and faces the fields. To the west of it is a long, narrow pond. Between the foot of the mountain and the pond there is an ancient temple - Mother-in-law's Hall.

As soon as the Japanese troops arrived, they searched from house to house, causing the people to flee for their lives. They robbed things when they saw them, killed people when they saw them, and there was the sound of ping-pong gunfire everywhere. At this moment, Fu Zhaobao, Fu Changliang, and Fu Liuyan were shot and killed in the mother-in-law's hall. Among the crowd running through the fields by the woods, six people (namely Fu Shulong's father Shi Ge, Fu Helin's father Fusheng, Fu Mushi's brother Baobao, Fu Xiangwan, Fu Shuyong and Ben Luoluo) died one after another.

At the same time, the Japanese army used thick ropes to tightly pick up Fu Youyan's mother and Fu Guangda's father Jin Dou, Jin Dou's wife Long, his brother-in-law (that is, Fu Bingyun's mother) Zhou, Fu Saner, Fu Yuelin's wife Xiao and her son Yuguang, and threw them into the bullpen, and then released them from all directions. Of the 30 houses that burned at the same time, only four were not burned because they were separated by a large pond, and the seven people who were thrown into the cattle pen were burned alive except for 10-year-old Yuguang, who broke free from the ropes and survived.

Just as the smoke was billowing and the fire was shining on the red sky, the Japanese invaders drove more than 10 old people out of Changshantang, and only Fu Changwei, father and son, Fu Changhu, Wugou, and Fugou escaped alive.

Mrs. Jin Lin is nearly 80 years old, and although she is now full of children and grandchildren, when she mentions the events of that year, her heart is broken, and she is overwhelmed with grief. With tears in his eyes, he said: "Only when we hear that the enemy troops have indeed left the country will we dare to return." As soon as I walked back, I was shocked to see the corpses of my loved ones lying in a pool of blood, and the village that had lived in it for generations was burned down, leaving only broken rubblesOf the six people who were burned alive, only a few remains, scorched in the fire. The two children who were captured by the Japanese devils were never returned. Excerpted from the 10th volume of "Dongkou Literary and Historical Materials").
