Indonesia's Goods and Services Procurement Policy Agency (LKPP) has recently published a regulation on the integration of brands in e-catalogues. This regulation is mainly requested by the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI) of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Indonesia, aiming to improve the quality and management of product brands in the e-catalogue
Main content:
1.Brand registration requirements.
All licensees who plan to list medical device products in the e-catalogue must ensure that their brand name is registered with DJKI. Brands that are not registered with DJKI will be marked as "Tanpa Merek [Nama Produk]" or "Without Brad [Product Name]".
2.Brand renewal policy.
Products labelled "Tanpa Merek [Nama Produk]" can continue to be registered with DJKI, and licensees will still have the opportunity to rebrand in the e-catalogue system.
3.Limit on the number of updates.
The e-catalogue licensee can only rebrand once per product.
Brand Registry process
For foreign medical device companies, the registration of the brand should be assisted by the local trademark department of DJKI to ensure a smooth registration process.
Through the implementation of the e-catalogue brand integration policy, Indonesia** aims to improve the credibility and quality of the brand, provide consumers with a better shopping experience, and also provide a clearer and more transparent market access mechanism for domestic and foreign companies.
