Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp called on fans to give away tickets if they can't fully support the team in Saturday's game against Arsenal.

After Wednesday's 5-1 thrashing of West Ham United to reach the Carabao Cup semi-finals, Jurgen Klopp was unhappy with the atmosphere at Anfield. He believes the fans have been mediocre after last weekend's frustrating draw with Manchester United and he hopes to see more enthusiasm in the next game at the top of the table against Arsenal.

The German said: "When the players are playing really well, I'm not happy with the atmosphere behind them. I ask people what do they want?We made a lot of changes and dominated West Ham like crazy but missed the chance.

If I sit in the stands, I'm fully focused and 100 per cent. I don't know, if last week's game against Manchester United was so bad that we had to apologise to them for not beating them?

We need to have the support of Anfield on Saturday. Arsenal have no games this week. They are ready for this game and anyone who knows them knows they will be ready.

So from the first second, we needed to keep them on their toes at Anfield without me arguing with the opposing coach.

If there are too many games in December, if you're not in good shape, give your tickets away.

It's not the kind of excitement I feel. There were a lot of good performances, but we were only 1-0 ahead. ”

Liverpool took the lead just before half-time thanks to a brilliant strike from Dominic Szobosloy before comfortably beating a weakened West Ham side with Curtis Jones scoring twice and Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah also netting.

Liverpool are looking to win the tournament for the 10th time and will now face Fulham for a place in the final.

Klopp said: 'Wembley is a great stadium and yes, we would like to go there again. I'm glad we were able to show tonight.

We've had a lot of great performances. It was a night where we could enjoy the game. ”

West Ham boss David Moyes believes he is still struggling to meet the challenge despite raising expectations following last season's Europa League triumph. In the seven games he has coached, the team has won seven and lost one.

Moyes said: "We've had incredible results. What are your expectations for West Ham?Would you expect us to win the European Trophy? Will we be expected to challenge for the Champions League?Few people here nod in agreement with these facts.

We are doing a great job for what we do. We try to win as many games as we can and when we have the opportunity to play against the top teams and the cups, we keep going.

The truth is that we've been doing a great job. We have to beat Arsenal at home to get into this game – maybe you expect us to beat Arsenal.

Tonight was a tough game for anyone who came to Anfield. ”
