As I turned 40, I realized the importance of loving myself.
It was a pivotal moment when I started to pay more attention to my own needs and see myself with a more caring eye.
In the process, I tried to approach life from a different perspective and care for my body, mind and soul in order to achieve true self-love.
Here are seven things I've tried in this regard, and have you done it too?
In the midst of a busy life, it's easy to lose sight of paying attention to your body. However, I learned to be more mindful of a healthy diet, exercise regularly, and get a good night's sleep. In these ways, I give myself physical care so that it can better cope with the signs of age.
Instead of escaping or suppressing emotions, learn to deal with inner ups and downs in a healthier way. Whether it's through communication, writing, or meditation, I've given myself more outlets to express my emotions and cultivated emotional stability.
Whether it's reading, drawing, or Xi a new skill, I encourage myself to pursue my inner passion. This makes me feel the colorfulness and richness of life, and also makes me more independent and fulfilling.
Whether it's a career achievement or a change in my personal life, I have set some achievable goals for myself and worked hard for them. This not only gives me a sense of accomplishment, but also makes me more motivated to pursue a higher quality of life.
Socializing with others is essential for mental health, so I am actively involved in friendships and family relationships. By sharing the moments of my life with my family and friends, I feel warm and supported, and I cherish each other's company even more.
At the age of 40, I understand the value of time and no longer rush to get by. Through daily chores, I have learned to be grateful and cherished, making life more profound and meaningful.
The age of 40 is not the end, but a new beginning in life. I face the unknown future with a positive attitude, believing that every stage brings new challenges and opportunities. This positive belief has made me more courageous to embrace all the possibilities of life.
Overall, at the age of 40, I am learning to love myself more deeply. It's not just a way to give back to yourself, it's about being able to live a fulfilling and meaningful life.
Maybe in this process, I have not always been able to achieve these seven points perfectly, but I believe that every step of the effort is the best kind of love for myself.
