Why can t you add an access card to your iPhone, and do you have an NFC record for your iPhone?

The Mobile Access Card (NFC) provides convenience in solving the problem of forgetting to bring your key, especially for most Android phone users. You only need to write the access control card issued by the property in the community into the NFC that comes with the mobile phone. However, for iPhone users, adding an access card is not a simple task.

Apple phones do not support the function of adding access cards directly. Even some of the methods mentioned online about adding via shortcuts aren't actually viable. This is because the access card added through this method is an encryption-free system, and most access control systems employ encryption technology. Therefore, even if the access card is successfully scanned through the Apple phone, the access control system will not recognize it because the access card is encrypted.

Another way is to use the "Wallet" feature of the iPhone to add a card like a "transit card" and try to write it into the property's access control system. However, this method has a low probability of success, as properties typically do not enter such cards for individuals individually, and this practice may be seen as an abnormal means of bypassing the iOS system.

Therefore, in general, the NFC function of Apple phones is limited in the use of access cards. Apple didn't fully open NFC permissions, probably due to security concerns. If users want to use their mobile phones to open the access control system, they can consider putting the access card inside the mobile phone case, using an Android phone, using a wristband, or buying a special NFC access control label to attach to the mobile phone.

Although the NFC function of Apple mobile phones is mainly used in scenarios such as shopping mall payment, keyless start of vehicles and passenger access tools, there are certain restrictions on the use of access control cards. For this, some users may need to go through other avenues to achieve their needs.
