If you're interested in the history of Istanbul, Dolma Čethe Palace should be a stop on your itinerary. The Dolma Che Palace is one of the grandest symbols of the Ottoman Empire's transition from a sultanate to a republic in the 19th century, and is now 166 years old.

Located on the seafront, the 110,000-square-meter Dolma Che Palace was opened on June 7, 1856 with spectacular views of the surrounding area. The Dolma-Uche Palace is divided into three sections, including the administrative office (Mabeyn-i Humayun), which carries out the administrative affairs of the State, the harem-i Humayun (harem-i Humayun), which belongs to the private life of the Sultan and his family, and the Muayede Salonu (Ceremonial Hall) reserved for important state ceremonies of the Sultan in between.

It is worth mentioning that to this day, the spectacular Dolma Ce Palace is still the largest single palace in Turkey, with 285 rooms, 44 halls, 68 baths, 6 hammam and 6 balconies. The overall style of the palace reflects Rococo, Baroque and Neoclassical architectural styles.

There are several very iconic architectural designs inside and outside the palace, which you can pay close attention to when you visit and check in. The most noteworthy is the roof of the magnificent crystal staircase, which is the most ornate part of the whole palace, and the handrail shaft of the staircase from the main entrance hall is all made of crystal, and with the gorgeous crystal chandelier, it is very impressive. In addition, many of the furnishings and daily necessities here are crystal, making you feel that the whole palace is particularly shining. It is now a museum, and every year countless visitors visit it to learn about the history and the stories it contains, as well as to learn about and appreciate the ever-changing architectural styles.
