Xavi felt his team had let go of two points and was unhappy with the result.
Barcelona have struggled in their last few league games, winning just one of their last four matches. However, Xavi had the support of the club's hierarchy ahead of the match against Valencia, including president Joan Laporta.
Barcelona midfielder Pedri also expressed his support for Xavi and stressed the need for unity in the team. The match against Valencia was a battle at both ends of the pitch, with both teams creating chances. João Felix broke the deadlock for Barcelona, but Hugo Giamon equalised for Valencia. Both sides had chances of a victory, but the match ended in a draw. The draw moved Valencia up to 10th place in the league, while Barcelona remained third.
