Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez has expressed disappointment that his side could only draw 1-1 with Valencia in Sunday's La Liga fixture. Although Barcelona move up to third place in the league, they are four points clear of leaders Real Madrid and six points behind surprise leaders Girona. Xavi felt his team had let go of two points and was unhappy with the result.

Barcelona have struggled in their last few league games, winning just one of their last four matches. They suffered a major defeat against Girona and lost to Antwerp Real in the Champions League in midweek. However, Xavi had the support of the club's hierarchy ahead of the match against Valencia, including president Joan Laporta.

Barcelona midfielder Pedri also expressed his support for Xavi and stressed the need for unity in the team. The match against Valencia was a battle at both ends of the pitch, with both teams creating chances. João Felix broke the deadlock for Barcelona, but Hugo Giamon equalised for Valencia. Both sides had chances of a victory, but the match ended in a draw. The draw moved Valencia up to 10th place in the league, while Barcelona remained third.
