Article Debut Challenge Moving into a new home, always expecting everything to be brand new and perfect. But life always likes to give people problems, doesn't it?In the first two years after I moved, I started a "deodorization war" with the bathroom aftertaste.
At first, there was nothing wrong with the bathroom, there was not a trace of odor. It could also be that there are fewer people staying in the house, and everything seems to be harmonious. But as time went on, I found that every rainy night, the bathroom was like some mysterious switch turned on, and there was always an indescribable stench. Winter is even worse, and when the windows are closed, the stench is almost pervasive.
In order to solve this difficult problem, I can be described as racking my brains.
When decorating, the designer warned me that the high-rise is prone to backsmell. If there is no trap in the sewer pipe and the floor drain seal height is less than 50mm, the smell will rush up mercilessly. Following the advice, I chose a deodor-proof floor drain and a trap for the plumbing of the wash basin. Indeed, this trick was very effective in the first few years.
However, the good times did not last long, and the stench quietly hit again. After my "human flesh probing", I suspected that it was a problem with the washbasin drain. So I looked it up online and found that it might be caused by hair residue in the shower and wash basin. Well, hands-on!I DIY a hook with wire, thoroughly clean the washbasin leak, and rinse it with disinfectant. Sure enough, the stench seemed to be gone. Occasionally, there is a smell, but you can easily cope with it with some deodorant.
But life always likes to joke. The washbasin problem has just been solved, and the inexplicable aftertaste has come again! In the winter, you can't sleep with the windows open every night, right? So, I searched the Internet again and found that there are many friends who have experienced the same experience as me. After this investigation, I found that the source of the odor pointed to the floor drain. After all, after a long time, has the water in the floor drain water seal evaporated?I immediately bought a toilet hair remover and cleaned the floor drain. Every day before going to bed, "feed" a glass of water to each floor drain, so that it can be managed for 2-3 days at a time.
Do you think that's going to be fine?Big mistake! After a few more nights of being woken up by the stench, I finally couldn't take it anymore. Since you can't find the reason, let's just block it!I bought glass glue online, and I sealed all the places where the sewer pipe and the floor drain were connected, and the toilet connection was no exception. Sure enough, the stench is really gone!
It's a pity that the good times didn't last long, and the glass glue failed after a long time. After trying to change the floor drain, buy detergent, buy deodorant, block the exit, etc., I almost broke down. Until one day, I saw a friend's sharing on the Internet: plastic bags**and plastic wrap**!With the mentality of a dead horse being a live horse doctor, I tried it, and each floor drain was added with a layer of plastic wrap, and the shower floor drain was added with a plastic bag filled with water. I didn't expect that these two lowest-cost methods would really solve my big problem!
After this series of twists and turns, I finally completely solved the problem of aftertaste in the bathroom. Looking back now, this "deodorization war" really made me laugh and cry. Sometimes the same is true of the problems we encounter in life, although sometimes it can be distressing and helpless, but as long as we don't give up looking for solutions, we will always find a way out.
I hope my story can provide you with some reference and help. The sharing of experiences in life is part of our common growth, let us share the bits and pieces of life together and grow together. Make every day more fun and fulfilling!
