To be virtuous or not to be virtuous is to be virtuous;Virtue is not lost, but there is no virtue. Shangde does nothing and does nothing. Shangren can't do anything about it. The righteousness is also for it. Shangli is for it and Mo Zhiying is also, then the rǎng arm is nǎi, so it is lost. Loss of morality followed by virtue, loss of virtue followed by benevolence, loss of benevolence followed by righteousness, loss of righteousness followed by courtesy. The husband is the one who is faithful, and the head of chaos. Those who know before are the flowers of the Tao, and the heads of foolishness. It is a big husband who lives in Qi Qi Qi and does not live in Qi Bo;It is not a place to live, so it is peeled to take this.

My understanding of this chapter is:

Tao is the essence of the universe and the law of energy and its operation. A virtuous person is a person who has attained enlightenment, and is not only able to possess and store energy. And they can use this energy consciously and actively. On the other hand, unenlightened people, although they have not lost these energies, their use is unconscious and passive. This difference actually reflects the difference in people's thinking styles and behavioral Xi.

For those who have attained the Dao, they use the Tao with their hearts, not just superficial actions. Their benevolence, although manifested, cannot be seen in concrete form;Their control of righteousness is shown through deeds, not empty slogans. As for those cumbersome etiquette, they will show it in their actions, but they will not over-respond to it, and if they do too much, they will lose the true meaning of the Dao.

The flow of energy has its own laws. When energy has fulfilled its mission, it takes a back seat and is left to the stored energy to take over. When the stored energy is also depleted, then the idea of "benevolence" will take over and guide people's behavior. If "benevolence" cannot be maintained, then "righteousness" will stand up and become a code of conduct for people. And when "righteousness" also fails, "etiquette" will become the dominant ideology, regulating people's behavior.

However, we must see that the old etiquette is gradually being discarded and the concept of faithfulness is gradually weakened, which is one of the sources of social unrest. However, our predecessors also recognized that although ritual law is the flowery surface of the Tao, it is also the primary condition for solving the problem of social ignorance. We should not discard it lightly, but should use it in due course.

A truly enlightened husband always has the right way of thinking. He will choose to dwell in the thick of the Dao rather than in its indifference; He will strive for practicality, not flashy appearance. Only in this way can he truly understand the Tao and truly achieve substantial results. This is also the way we should aspire to live: with depth and practicality, not with nothing but superficial forms.
