After more than two years of construction, the 2 million kilowatt photovoltaic sand control project in Kubuqi, Mengxi Base, jointly invested and constructed by Three Gorges Energy and Elion Clean Energy, has recently been connected to the grid at full capacity in Hangjinqi, Ordos City, Inner Mongolia. This is also the largest single ecological photovoltaic sand control project in China, with an average annual production of 4.1 billion kilowatt hours of green electricity, which can save 1.23 million tons of standard coal combustion and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 319 per year80,000 tons, reduce sulfur dioxide emissions 2950,000 tons, reducing nitrogen oxide emissions by 0860,000 tons, reducing soot emissions by 1230,000 tons.
The 2 million kilowatt photovoltaic sand control project in Kubuqi, Mengxi base, started construction on October 16, 2021, covering an area of 100,000 mu with a total investment of 111500 million yuan. The construction includes 2 million kilowatt photovoltaic farm area, 400,000 kilowatt and 800,000 kilowatt-hour energy storage system, 3 220kV booster stations and 100,000 acres of desert ecological construction project.
According to Zhao Jinquan, the person in charge of the project in Kubuqi of China Three Gorges Corporation, the 2 million kilowatt photovoltaic sand control project in Kubuqi of Mengxi base adopts the three-dimensional ecological photovoltaic sand control mode of "double-sided power generation on the board, double-layer ecology under the plate, and double-layer breeding between the plates", and realizes double-sided power generation on the board through double-glass modules, which can increase the power generation by 5%-10%;Crops such as high-quality forage grass and medicinal herbs are planted under the board to achieve three-dimensional ecological plantingThe sand control technology of "livestock, poultry and grass coupling" is used to raise chickens and then sheep, and the manure of livestock and poultry is returned to the field to control sand and change the soil. Comprehensively realize the multiple benefits of "photovoltaic +" of "on-board power generation, under-board planting, inter-plate breeding, sand control and soil reform, and rural revitalization".
In order to ensure the smooth grid-connected power generation of Kubuqi's 2 million kilowatt photovoltaic sand control new energy project, Inner Mongolia Electric Power Group invested 71.6 billion yuan to build the Gushanliang 500 thousand volt power transmission and transformation project and supporting 220 thousand volt line transmission project.
Song Congyue, deputy general manager of Ordos Power Supply Company, said that in the face of the large-scale new energy grid connection in Ordos City, by building a "Tianzig" 500 kV strong backbone grid in the Yellow River Bay, building an intelligent and flexible distribution network, promoting the planning and research layout of energy storage on the grid side, carrying out the integration and intelligent dispatching construction of "source, network, load and storage", enriching the means of peak regulation of the power grid, and continuing to meet the needs of regional new energy development.
The Kubuqi 2 million kilowatt photovoltaic sand control project in Mengxi base is one of the first large-scale wind power photovoltaic base projects to start construction in the country during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, and it is also the largest single three-dimensional ecological photovoltaic sand control project in the country during the current period built by "central enterprises + private enterprises". The construction of the project has strongly promoted local economic development and employment of farmers and herdsmen. During the construction period, the project attracted more than 1,000 farmers and herdsmen to work. During the operation period, the project will adopt the rural revitalization and mutual aid model of "company + farmer + cooperative", and is expected to steadily absorb 500 people per year to engage in component cleaning, underboard crop planting and management, animal husbandry and breeding, etc.
