Early this morning, young people with large bags and trolley suitcases rushed to the Shanghai Mass Art Museum one after another, they are all model friends from all over the country who came to participate in the 2024 Shanghai New Year Model Exchange Competition, as well as model enthusiasts and the general public who came together to visit the two-day 2024 Shanghai New Year Model Exchange Competition and observe the exhibition. At the exhibition, including "Initial D", "007 vs. Casino Royale", "Mission Impossible 6" and other classic models that carry passion and dreams, also open the doors for the audience to see.
The predecessor of the Shanghai New Year Model Exchange Contest was a model enthusiast exchange activity initiated by the Modelz Model Club in 2006. Since its date is fixed on New Year's Day every year, since 2010, it has been officially named "Shanghai New Year Model Exchange Competition" (SNYMC). This year's competition is divided into four categories and 20 groups for competition, 442 people from 28 provinces, 71 regions and overseas signed up, a total of 550 works to participate, a record for the year, and the number of exhibitors has doubled compared with last year.
In addition to the competition, the public can also enjoy the annual heavyweight model exhibition - "Come to Fangxuan" static civil vehicle model exhibition. The exhibition exhibited more than 40 classic works by 20 "civil car gods". Genres include family cars, supercars, race cars, fire trucks, motorcycles, public cars, extreme proportions, and more, as well as a variety of model-making kits, materials, and tools, ......
There are many classic models in the exhibition, especially racing cars and sports cars, which are favored by film and television dramas and become film and television masterpieces. Fans who have watched Jay Chou's movie "Initial D" will remember the tofu delivery boy in the tofu shop in the film, driving an AE86 "drifting" between mountain roads every day. The author Hu Nan restored the scene of this car and the movie tofu shop, he made a full drive of this era car, so that everyone can see the internal structure of the car, and he also thoughtfully put a row of tofu in the trunk of the car. The Nissan GT-R LM is the car of Jenn Maddenborough, the main character of the movie Gran Turismo: The Amazing Race, and it shows the extraordinary courage of an ordinary teenager. The author, Wu Yifan, through a large number of modifications, shapes, and the use of rubber plates to recreate the rear diffuser, rear wing, door lining, hinge structure, and add carbon fiber water stickers for the whole car. In addition, viewers will be able to see the Aston Martin DBS, a sports car based on 007 vs. Casino Royale. Do you still remember the drag racing scene in "Mission Impossible 6" where Tom rides a motorcycle called "Latte"?The humorous author pasted the latte with a "sauce" pattern to create a homemade "sauce latte".
The theme is civilian cars, so the exhibition is also full of memories of life. Lin Yiqi, a 25-year-old graphic designer, has been traveling by bus with his parents since he was a child, "The bus is my most friendly means of transportation. He loves models, and vividly presents the bus stops in his memory with scenario models, which resonates with citizens. The hub station of Nanpu Bridge (Hujunying Road) was specially built for the World Expo, and now it still retains the supporting facilities of the World Expo, and he named it "Collection". The No. 55 bus terminal is the stop in front of his house, and he goes to take the bus every morning, so he freezes the "Morning Light" in the depths of his memory. In order to make the details realistic, he also added a mobile TV in the car and a sunshade for the driver. He is very rigorous in restoring the details of different cars, "because everyone is familiar with buses", and he laughed that when he participated in the competition, he also encountered someone pointing out the error between a certain detail on his car and the real car. Lin Yiqi hopes to restore more classic bus stops and depict the century-old history of Shanghai public transportation.
The exhibition will run until January 21. (Xinmin Evening News reporter Wu Xiang).
