Yesterday, I saw a piece of news that the East Lake Lingbo Gate is currently surrounded, and the transformation has become inevitable, and it is indeed the case when passing by there today. I couldn't help but sigh in my heart that Lingbomen might never be able to go back in the future. Every summer I go swim at the Limbo Gate. In the evening, it is very beautiful, whether it is walking, playing in the water, swimming, jumping in the East Lake or taking pictures, it is a unique experience in Wuhan in summer.

Lingbo Gate is one of the best places in Wuhan to see East Lake, and is known as "the most sea-like place in Wuhan". It seems to have become an Internet celebrity check-in place in recent years. And when I was a kid, I swam at the Limbo Gate in the 90s. It was only in 2012 that the East Lake trestle bridge in front of Lingbo Gate was partially demolished due to the safety hazards of wild swimming, and the trestle was repaired in 2015. In recent years, it has become a popular tourist attraction, and "if you love her, take her to Wuhan University to see the sea" seems to have become the slogan of Lingbomen, so that a large number of tourists and college students have come to see the sea.

But as a scenic spot, the scenery of Lingbo Gate is really not very good, only a trestle bridge connected to the lake, but it is very good to get a picture there. Especially in the evening, it is a blockbuster when you shoot casually, because the light is the softest in the evening, and the pier of the Lingbo Gate is in the lake, the background is clean, and you can shoot quite beautiful portraits with a telephoto whether it is in the light or backlight. This made the beautiful and handsome guys on the social ** very excited, and they came to check in one after another.
But the locals carry our own memories of the Limbo Gate. Every summer I go to Lingbo Gate to swim, and I definitely don't swim in the shallow water, because the water there is really not clean, there are too many people, and there are a lot of people with pets in their arms, which is very unhygienic. I was at the farthest end of the trestle, jumping a few times on the East Lake and swimming into the distance to pay tribute to the hot summer in Wuhan. You will also see a group of diving enthusiasts with their own springboards, one by one taking turns to perform fancy diving moves, there is "jumping East Lake" that is the summer of Lingbo Gate. Of course, it's all free.
"Jumping East Lake" began in 2010, it was born as a result of the rebellion against the OCT in Wuhan to fill the lake, and it is a project in the "Everyone's East Lake" art project initiated by Wuhan artists. Now it seems that this is going to become uncertain with the siege of the Limbo Gate, will I still be able to swim there for free next year?

The roadside announcement said that in order to prepare for the start of construction of the third phase of the East Lake Greenway, the construction has not officially started.
What the hell is the third phase of the East Lake project? On December 15, the Wuhan Municipal Bureau of Natural Resources and Planning also solicited a questionnaire on the design of the third phase of the East Lake Greenway online. Why can't you wait to surround the Lingbo Gate now?I'm not surprised, but I personally think that the transformation of the Limbo Gate will be sooner or later for three reasons
1. Transportation: In the evening, in summer, the water in front of the Lingbo Gate is impassable. The two-lane road around the lake is unusually narrow under the intermingling of traffic and electric vehicles (bicycles). It is quite dangerous to drive or ride a bicycle, especially an electric car. Because the carriageway is very narrow, and there is bus 402 passing by, two buses are coming in opposite directions, and the whole road is occupied. There are still a lot of uphill and downhill slopes along the lake, which makes the speed of vehicles not slow. The bicycle lane by the lake is basically a decoration, the narrowest part is less than a person wide, bicycles and electric vehicles can only compete with private cars and buses on the roadway, the degree of danger can be imagined. In front of Lingbo Gate is still the exit of the internal vehicles of Wuhan University, and this section of the road is only a little wider in front of Lingbo Gate, many cars are still turning around here, and several parties converge at Lingbo Gate, which shows how complicated the traffic situation here is.
2. Safety: It's not news that Lingbo Gate will drown people, it happens every year. Every time I swam into the depths of East Lake, I would see patrol boats, and they would use loudspeakers to warn me constantly, and there would be security guards on duty on the shore to prevent people from drowning. But no matter how many patrol boats and security guards there are, drowning is only a matter of numbers. So I never go to Limbo Gate to swim at night, I always swim for more than an hour in the afternoon and leave when it's dark. But most people will choose to swim at night, because the summer sun in Wuhan is not an ordinary poison, and it is cooler to swim at night. But the night is too unsafe, the lighting is limited, especially in the deep water, it is pitch black, and East Lake is a natural lake and not a swimming pool.
Nowadays, it is also popular to go to Lingbo Gate to watch the sunrise, that is, no matter the four seasons, you need to be guarded by security guards. Late at night to early in the morning is also the most dangerous time, but many people still have to sit in the farthest place, on the trestle that can only accommodate one person to walk on the most beautiful sunrise, but in case of falling into the water, there are no ambulance personnel around. You must know that the average depth of water in deep water is 2-3 meters, and in some places it is even deeper, and the life and death of people who can't swim may be at that moment.
3. Economic aspect: On the shore of Lingbo Gate, there is a large stone tablet engraved with "Lingbo Gate Swimming Pool", which used to be an open-air swimming pool for teaching, so Lingbo Gate has not been charged since it was built. Nowadays, Lingbo Gate is popular, and there are many business opportunities, there are also late-night barbecue stalls in front of Lingbo Gate in the middle of the night, and swimming rings, water guns and even tents are usually sold, and it is convenient for girls to change their swimsuits by the number of times (Lingbo Gate has no place to change clothes). A large number of tourists, students, and citizens visit here every day, which is a considerable amount of income. I don't know if those small traders and hawkers have paid rent, of course, ** will definitely not compete with the people, but daily maintenance and maintenance and so many safety measures need to be paid.
Now that the East Lake Greenway is successful, the big IP of Lingbomen is indeed in need of transformation. But what to change?I don't know, I just know that it will definitely be impossible to jump East Lake for free unscrupulously in the future. After all, it's wild swimming, and I can understand it, but the action of jumping East Lake will also be gone.
Today's Limbomen is a big Internet celebrity, and how discordant it would be if someone drowns often. The traffic is so congested, the lake is so messy, and there are so many small traders and hawkers, how much it damages the image of Wuhan's Dadong Lake. Despite this, I think it is the Wuhan that used to be full of fireworks that makes me nostalgic even more. I sincerely hope that the ** department can consider it comprehensively, and I also hope that Lingbo Gate will become more and more beautiful.
