Recently, the unveiling ceremony of the Olympic Research Center of Harbin Institute of Technology was held in the activity center. Han Shengjian, Vice Governor of Heilongjiang Province, Qian Fuyong, Vice Chairman of the Heilongjiang Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Director of the Provincial Sports Bureau, President of the International Gymnastics Federation and member of the International Olympic Committee Watanabe Morinari, Zhang Hong, member of the International Olympic Committee, director of the Samaranch Sports Development Association and initiator of Hong, and Xiong Sihao, Secretary of the Party Committee of Harbin Institute of Technology, attended the ceremony.
In his speech, Han Shengjian said that the establishment of the Olympic Research Center of Harbin Institute of Technology is of great significance to promote the Olympic movement in Heilongjiang Province and Harbin Institute of Technology and cultivate talents for future international sports organizations. The center will become an important link between the IOC, Heilongjiang Province and Harbin Institute of Technology, and promote the innovation platform for the deep integration of academia and the Olympic Games. It is hoped that the center will further strengthen exchanges with the International Olympic Committee, continue to expand cooperation with international sports organizations, give full play to the characteristics of Longjiang ice and snow culture and the scientific research advantages of Harbin Institute of Technology, and guide more young people to actively participate in the Olympic movement. Heilongjiang Province will fully support the development and construction of the center, work together to build the center into a model of science and technology to serve the development of the Olympic Games, and make greater contributions to the revitalization and development of Longjiang, the construction of a sports power, and the promotion of the Olympic spirit.
In his speech, Morinari Watanabe congratulated the establishment of the Olympic Research Center of Harbin Institute of Technology. He said that the progress of science and technology can better promote the development of sports, and the future Olympics will incorporate more scientific and technological elements. As the only research center of the International Olympic Committee focusing on serving the development of the Olympic Games with science and technology, it is hoped that the Olympic Research Center of Harbin Institute of Technology can make more representative research results, help the Harbin 2025 Asian Winter Games to be held successfully with innovative technology, promote the sustainable development of the sports industry with the power of science and technology, serve the inheritance and promotion of the Olympic spirit, and make the Olympic torch more dazzling.
Xiong Sihao said in his speech that since its establishment, the Olympic Research Center of Harbin Institute of Technology has given full play to the advantages of talent training, scientific and technological innovation and teaching staff of the school, continued to carry out Olympic sports and cultural education, increased the organization of scientific research in the field of ice and snow, and constantly polished the "signboard of Harbin Institute of Technology" of ice and snow technology. In the future, the center will focus on the development of the Winter Olympic Movement and the cultivation of talents in international sports organizations, continue to promote the dissemination of the Olympic spirit, culture and sports, create more platforms for international sports exchanges and cooperation, help the Harbin 2025 Asian Winter Games be held smoothly, and make new and greater contributions to serving the sports power, the construction of a healthy China and the development of the international Olympic movement.

At the unveiling ceremony, Yao Lijun, chairman of Ningbo Jiangfeng Electronic Materials Co., Ltd., and Zheng Jia, project management director of Shanghai Towards Shengli Health Technology, donated 1 million yuan and 300,000 yuan respectively on behalf of the company to support the development and construction of the center.
After the unveiling ceremony, the launching ceremony of the Olympic values education project was held. Huang Simian, Vice President of the International Olympic Committee, Li Lingwei, Vice President of the Chinese Olympic Committee and Chairman of the Samaranch Sports Development Association, as well as representatives from international sports organizations such as the International Olympic Committee, the International Olympic Culture and Heritage, the International Academy of Sports Science and Technology, and the Global Esports Federation, as well as representatives of world champions, delivered speeches.
Zhang Hong introduced the development of the research center from the aspects of international cooperation, talent training, achievement transformation and social responsibility.
Hou Kun and Zhang Hong, members of the IOC Cultural and Olympic Heritage Committee, Chen Jin, world champion and professor of the Department of Physical Education, and Zhang Jingqiang, an outstanding alumnus, jointly presented books to the youth representatives. Representatives of primary and secondary school students in Harbin performed wonderful programs at the ceremony.
After the ceremony, the leaders and guests attended the Olympic Lecture Hall and conducted discussions and exchanges on the theme of "Olympic and Harbin Institute of Technology".
It is understood that the Olympic Research Center of Harbin Institute of Technology is one of the 68 international research centers in the world certified and qualified by the International Olympic Committee, the first Olympic Research Center in Heilongjiang Province and Northeast China with the theme of ice and snow science and technology, ice and snow sports, and the only Olympic Research Center led by the IOC members and Olympic champions.
