Can I wear contact lenses after surgery, and how long can I wear them?
After about half a year of myopia surgery, you can wear contact lenses. Since contact lenses are soft contact lenses with poor oxygen permeability, wearing them too early after surgery may affect postoperative recovery, and even cause diseases such as conjunctivitis and keratitis. Ophthalmologists do not recommend long-term contact lenses, and even patients who do not have a history of refractive surgery may develop corneconjunctival inflammatory disease due to long-term contact lenses.
How long do I have to rest after surgery? What are the precautions for using the eyes?
1.The laser myopia surgery procedure is very short, only a few minutes to ten minutes. 1-2 days after the operation, the patient can basically use his eyes normally, and the operation will not affect school and work. The eyes can be opened after surgery, but some patients experience slight discomfort such as tearing and foreign body sensation within a few hours after surgery.
2.On the second day after surgery, patients can watch TV, read books, watch computers and mobile phones, etc., but the eyes are easy to get tired in the early postoperative period, so it is not advisable to use the eyes for too long or too closely.
3.Within one month after surgery, it is recommended that patients use a computer or mobile phone for 20 30 minutes and then need to rest for 10 to 15 minutes to see a distance of 5 meters, or close their eyes to rest, and then use a computer or mobile phone for half an hour, and so on.
4 After one month, patients can appropriately extend the time of using the computer according to their own situation, every 40 minutes of computer use for 1 hour, rest for 10 minutes to look into the distance, then use the computer for 40 minutes for 1 hour, rest for another 10 minutes, and so on. The international recommendation for the use of electronic screens is the 20-20-20 rule: that is, every 20 minutes of looking at electronic screens, look 20 feet (6 meters) away for 20 seconds, and blink several times.
Who is not suitable for myopia surgery?
Patients under the age of 18 (except in special circumstances) who have relatively unstable myopia are not recommended for surgery, and it is recommended to wear myopia glasses as the first choicePatients with systemic diseases, particularly those of the immune system;Patients with active inflammation of the eye, cataracts that affect vision, severe glaucoma, or retinal disease;Patients with keratoconus or a tendency to keratoconus.
Who can have myopia surgery?
1.The patient himself has a desire to improve the refractive status of the eye through refractive surgery, mental health, and reasonable expectations for the results of the surgery.
2.Patients aged 18 years and above with myopia and astigmatism (except for special circumstances, such as career requirements, high anisometropia, etc.).
3.The diopter power is relatively stable, with a change of less than 0 in the past 2 years50 d years.
4.The cornea is transparent, there are no obvious pannus or pannus, the corneal topography is normal, and there is no keratoconus tendency.
5.No other ocular diseases and/or systemic organic lesions that affect surgical recovery.
6.Those who have been excluded from surgery by preoperative examination.
Do I need to wear blue-light blocking glasses?
No, you don't. For three months after surgery, patients are advised to wear UV-blocking sunglasses outdoors. For more than three months after surgery, patients are advised to wear sunglasses in areas with high ultraviolet rays, which can prevent eye diseases such as cataracts and pterygium.
Introduction to myopia surgery.
At present, there are two main types of myopia surgery: corneal laser surgery and intraocular lens surgery.
Myopia laser surgery can be classified according to the size of the supracorneal incision, which is divided into full femtosecond SMILE surgery with small incisions, half femtosecond FS-LASIK surgery with large incisions, and superficial surgery without incisions. ReLEx is the most advanced laser surgery method at present. It does not require a corneal flap, but only uses a laser to separate the cornea inside the cornea through layers at different depths to form a corneal stromal lens. The surgeon removes the lens through a tiny 2mm incision to complete the procedure. ReLEx can provide low, medium and high myopia and astigmatism, fast postoperative vision recovery, good comfort and biomechanics, light and short duration of dry eye, and avoid the risk of corneal flap complications.
Intraocular lens surgery is to make a small incision of 3mm at the edge of the cornea while retaining its own lens, and implant a "thin lens" similar to ** glasses into the eye, without cutting the patient's corneal tissue. Intraocular lens surgery is suitable for patients with ultra-high myopia above 1000 degrees, thin cornea or corneal morphology that is not suitable for laser, and patients with moderate to low myopia should be considered with caution.
How long does it take for the mist to recover after surgery?
It is normal to feel foggy after the surgery, so don't worry. The water mist sensation is due to the fact that the femtosecond laser produces a lot of gas and air bubbles between the corneal layers during the ablation of the cornea, and the gas and air bubbles generated will not leave instantaneously because the incision of the full femtosecond laser surgery is too small. After surgery, these bubbles and gases need a certain amount of time to be absorbed by the tissues, so there will be a feeling of water mist in the short term after surgery.
This feeling of water mist usually disappears in a week to a month, and in some people it even disappears in 1-2 days. The speed of the disappearance of water mist sensation is also related to the thickness of the cornea and the density of the cornea, and there are individual differences.
Dress code on the day of surgery.
As myopia surgery requires lying flat on the operating table, please wear loose, comfortable clothing and avoid wearing hoodies, high-necked pullovers, and short skirts. On the day of surgery, it is forbidden to use items with volatile odors, such as hairspray, perfume, cosmetics, etc., so as not to affect the energy stability of the laser. Do not wear any jewelry on the day of surgery, and the girl's false eyelashes should be removed a few days before the surgery. In addition, before the surgery, please make sure to follow the doctor's instructions for preoperative anti-inflammatory and eye moisturizer medications, ensure that the surgical eye is clean and hygienic, and maintain adequate sleep.
