Southeast Network, December 12 (Fujian ** reporter Jiang Fengman) On the 9th, the first undergraduate college laboratory safety skills competition was held in Fujian Medical University, with 49 teams and nearly 200 people from 29 undergraduate colleges and universities in the province participating.

Focusing on the theme of "comprehending safety management norms and improving safety operation skills", the competition is divided into two tracks: chemical-related laboratories and non-chemical-related laboratories, and sets up three links, including theoretical knowledge, hidden danger finding, and emergency disposal, and conducts theoretical and practical assessments on key skills such as hazard identification, safety hazard investigation, risk assessment, and emergency response capabilities in laboratory safety management from the aspects of basic safety specifications, fire safety, hydropower safety, machinery safety, hazardous chemicals and gas cylinder safety. During the meeting, the participating teams exchanged and discussed laboratory safety management, from the interpretation of policies and industry standards, territorial management differences, safety technology operations, school management systems and business processes.

Guided by the Provincial Department of Education and sponsored by the Laboratory Management Professional Committee of the Provincial Association of Higher Education, the competition aims to improve the safety skills and literacy of laboratory managers, enhance team communication and collaboration capabilities, enhance inter-school experience exchanges, and consolidate the main battlefield of teaching and scientific research in colleges and universities.
