At present, the project covers 7 counties, including Cuoqin, Gaize, Geji, Gar, Ritu, Pulan and Zada, with a project area of 5.6 million mu. On July 18, 2023, the Ali Forestry and Grassland Bureau, the Northwest Survey and Planning Institute of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, and the Environmental Protection Bridge (Shanghai) Environmental Technology completed the signing ceremony of the first forest and grass carbon sink transaction, with a carbon sink of 50,000 tons and a transaction amount of 1.3 million yuan, and all the proceeds will be invested in the protection and restoration of degraded grasslands.

In recent years, Ali has strengthened its regulatory capabilities, improved its monitoring network, and carried out regular monitoring in six major areas, including air, water, noise, biodiversity, radiation, and rural environment. At present, 125 routine monitoring networks have been built, including 8 ambient air monitoring points, 24 surface water monitoring points, 14 drinking water source monitoring points, and 79 environmental noise monitoring points. Complete the routine monitoring of 2 prefecture-level centralized water sources and 5 state-controlled surface water sections on time every month, complete the manual air monitoring of 24 district-controlled surface water, 14 county-level water sources and 6 counties every quarter, and publish monthly, quarterly and annual reports on environmental quality in Ali area in real time.
