In 1965, Lu Xiaoman left the world, and her ex-husband wept bitterly over her departure. The criticism that once spent a lot of money on her and led to Xu Zhimo's early death is now silent...

In 1903, Lu Xiaomanjiao was born in the Lu family and became the pearl of the palm. The father was a late Qing dynasty man who paid attention to his daughter's education, supported her ambition to study, and inspired her to start a business. Lu Xiaoman lived up to expectations and became a famous diplomatic translator in Shanghai at the age of 17, coupled with her delicate face, she became a celebrity. With a frequent social life, she became a star in Shanghai's social circle.

At the age of 19, she obeyed her parents' orders and married 28-year-old Wang Geng. Wang Geng is handsome and chic, but he is a martial artist who knows nothing about Lu Xiaoman's lifestyle. After marriage, she found that her life was no longer luxurious, because her husband could only give her material abundance, but could not satisfy her heart's desires. In order to cater to his wife, Wang Geng even arranged for his friend Xu Zhimo to accompany her. However, this decision put Lu Xiaoman on the road of no return with Xu Zhimo.

Wang Geng was transferred to Harbin, and in order to work, he had to leave. Lu Xiaoman and Xu Zhimo had more frequent contact, and the two fell in love. In order to pursue love, Lu Xiaoman resolutely decided to divorce Wang Geng. However, the outside world was extremely condemned by this extramarital relationship, and Lu Xiaoman was blamed and imprisoned by his family. Xu Zhimo was also criticized because of this relationship. But they are deeply in love, convinced that love can conquer everything.

After marriage, Lu Xiaoman's extravagant life led to Xu Zhimo's financial burden. Despite Xu Zhimo's hard work, Lu Xiaoman did nothing and lived a luxurious life all day long. However, she did not understand the financial pressure that her husband was carrying. In 1931, she wrote to Xu Zhimo, saying that she had no money to spend and asked him to return to Shanghai. Xu Zhimo hurried home, but unexpectedly found Lu Xiaoman's despair in the smoke.

The news came that Xu Zhimo's plane crashed, and the news of his death made Lu Xiaoman heartbroken. Many literati accused Lu Xiaoman of profligacy, blaming her for causing Xu Zhimo's death. After Xu Zhimo's death, Lu Xiaoman did not sink, but went to a drug rehabilitation center to quit opium. She began to re-examine her life, devoted herself to painting, and became a staff member of the Shanghai Museum of Culture and History. In her later years, the last man in her life, the Dragon Boat Festival, appeared and took good care of her. Under his care, Lu Xiaoman lived a simple and ordinary life. Finally, she died quietly on April 3, 1965, in Shanghai East China Hospital.

Lu Xiaoman was deeply immersed in secular luxury in the first half of her life, but in the second half of her life, she understood the true meaning of blandness. She devoted herself to painting and achieved great success. Although her life has been full of twists and turns, she has always maintained her attachment to Xu Zhimo.
