The Beauty of Difficult to Climb (Jiangxi People's Publishing House, first edition in September 2023, hereinafter referred to as "Climbing") is a new prose work solemnly launched by Comrade Liu Shangyang, a Jiangxi writer, following "Where the Predecessors Have Answers", "The Splendor of the Ruins", "The High Road into the Clouds" and "Mountains and Rivers Meteorology into Dreams". When I read this work, Du Fu's famous sentence of discussing art with poetry came to mind from time to time: "Yu Xin's articles are old and more successful, and Ling Yunjian's pen is vertical and horizontal" - as an old writer who has been involved in the field of prose for more than 40 years, Liu Shangyang also has an old and strong pen and ink with vertical and horizontal meaning. His "Climbing" either looks at the wonders of China from afar, or directly hits the extraterritorial situation, or hooks the history of the sinking river, or looks at the present and past of the plateau, or picks up the mental journey. In terms of "what to write", it may be common and common, but once it touches on "how to write", there is a series of new and detached positive rhetoric, a series of oblique and evasive flow of consciousness, accompanied by a kind of exalted narrative demeanor. At first glance, what Yucheng and promoted all this was the writer's literary heart and talent, but a closer look found that it ultimately benefited from a kind of uninhibited psychological path formed by the writer in his long-term work and artistic practice, a fresh and open way of thinkingIn other words, it is the writer's spiritual map that is extraordinary and eclectic, which has made his prose vigorous and surprisingly successful. Now let's look at the flower of thought that blooms in The Climb.
Reverse thinking. Reverse thinking in prose refers to the writer's starting from his own unique spiritual cognition, and reversing and correcting some common and almost fixed statements or ideas, so as to approach, enrich and even reach the depth and truth of things. This is mostly shown in "The Climb". For example, "Wanshou Palace: The Spiritual Palace of Jiangyou Merchant Gang", locks the landmark Wanshou Palace of Jiangyou Merchant Gang at home and abroad, and writes about the Wanshou Palace culture born from it, which is of spiritual value and historical significance for promoting the development of Jiangyou business, but it does not let this idea go down the trend and remain unchanged, but halfway through the pen and start** Some of the deficiencies and limitations of this culture, and the reasons why it ultimately failed to make the Jiangyou Merchants bigger and stronger, making them comparable to the Jin merchants, the change of direction and retrograde of thinking reveal more complex business laws and deeper historical situations. Dubai is an international metropolis that has risen on the desert for nearly half a century and is known as "Paradise on Earth". However, a "Fear of Dubai" has a unique eye, keenly seeing the paradoxes and crises implied in this "paradise", and then seriously points out that in a place that is not suitable for human existence, the pursuit and manufacture of the strange and luxurious "world first" is in essence a predatory, destructive and irrational development. It can be described as surprising and deafening. For a long time, many people thought that the title of "Fuzhou **head" was depreciative, which was an ugly and dwarfing of Fuzhou people. The article "Like the "Fuzhou ** Head" starts from the totem worship, folk semantics, symbolic implications, and "the image characteristics and survival habits of the **", picks up the English and chews the Chinese, widely recruits and quotes, and clears the source, which corrects the name of the long-misunderstood "** head", and also broadens the reader's horizons and updates its thinking methods.
Steep change of mind. Many of the chapters in "The Climb" focus on a certain scene, thing, or phenomenon. When the writer transforms these into artistic texts, he has always adhered to the basic stance and ideological method of dialectical materialism, consciously adhered to the two-point theory, and when it comes to the level of thinking mode, it is always manifested as the steep turn of the meaning and the leap of the narrative, as well as the opposition and unity of the deep meaning. Taking "The First Tree in Jiangxi" as an example, the article revolves around the camphor tree known as the Jiangxi Provincial Tree, and introduces the historical fate of the camphor tree and the Jiangxi land, the ecological scale of the camphor tree in the Jiangxi land, and the character and advantages of the camphor tree itself, but do not forget to look at the camphor tree from a different angle and sight, and the result is that the camphor tree reflects the utilitarianism, impetuousness and short-sightedness of some people at present, so as to have a universal enlightenment and warning significance. The same is true of "Rape Flower Aria". The article takes rape flowers as the core image, first in reminiscing about the past, enthusiastically praising the healthy and simple beauty of rape flowers, and then the writer's eyes and thoughts are changed, and he points out in a tone that is not worry-free: in some parts, the beauty of rape flowers is being replaced by money and interests, emptied, and replaced, and from the perspective of China's current agricultural environment and farming conditions, the "sightseeing agriculture" that is purely a flower frame is not worth advocating. "Looking at Mount Everest" writes about the relationship between "me" and Mount Everest, which includes a tribute to the natural scenery, a reflection on the philosophy of life, and a tribute to mountaineers. However, in the chapter of the chapter, the writer solemnly pointed out some phenomena that are worthy of vigilance and must be abandoned in recent years. Obviously, such mental schemas and pictures are beneficial to the reader's spiritual and psychological construction, thus helping them to get out of the binary opposition of simple affirmation or negation.
Associative thinking. This is exactly the case with several sections of The Climb. You see: "The First Bay of the Yangtze River" is written in the mighty but leisurely demeanor of the Yangtze River, presenting a huge water Taiji between the mountains and the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, but the writer obviously did not indulge in the magic of nature, but calmly detoured this section of the Yangtze River, turned around the trend, and finally "rushed to the sea and never returned", which was cleverly linked with social development, historical progress and life choices. As a result, the Chinese nation is sober and rational, and there is more than enough to advance and retreatThe Chinese revolution judged the situation and marched forward with twists and turns;and even the personal career has been guarded and abandoned, straight and curved, and it is in full view for a while, and the whole work suddenly shows its majestic and majestic atmosphere. "Ode to Biandan" starts the topic from the well-known "Biandan", but does not stop at the reiteration and emphasis of the inherent connotation, but starts associative thinking to make a new excavation and extension of the successful experience of the Chinese revolution: the style from hard struggle to arouse the people, and the spirit from the courage to take responsibility to keep pace with the times, as written in the text: "The small Biandan, with hardships at one end and happiness at the other;One end is a memory, the other is a hope;One end is the past, and the other is the future. "Thirsty Falls was filmed in Zambia, Africa. From the lack of water in Victoria Falls, the work writes about the "thirst" caused by drought in the whole of Zambia, and then uses this "thirst" as a symbolic projection, writing about its economic depression, the difficulty of education and health, and the lack of knowledge and intelligence. This kind of association from concrete to abstract seems to widen the distance between the ontology and the object, but in fact, it is this long-distance association that deepens the meaning of the work and the writer's emotion, thus conveying an increasingly distinct sense of human community.
Intuitive thinking. There is another obvious feature of the works included in "The Climb": almost all the objects of expression are based on the writer's "experience and sight", and they are all the enduring storage of his realm of experience and the painstaking salvage of the world of appearance. In this regard, it goes without saying that such travel-like and reminiscence chapters as "The Waves Roll in the Xisha Love", "The Legend of Guizhou" and "A String of Picking Up the Sound of Dolls" are self-evident, even if the works that focus on historical scenery and cultural heritage can be called similar. For example, "The Echo of a Walled House", which describes the walled house in southern Gannan, "The First in the World-Yimen Chen Tieshi", which traces the Chen family of De'an Yimen, and "Meiguan Ancient Post Road", which counts the ancient and modern Meiguan Ancient Post Road, have all left the clues of the writer's "eyes and hearts" and the imprint of "kissing to Chang'an". One of them, "The Potala Palace Forever", is particularly ingenious and skillful. His pen and ink not only exhaust the changes and ups and downs of the Potala Palace over the past thousand years, but also describe the micro situation and local wonders of this palace in detail and concretely, vividly, showing the meticulousness and seriousness of the writer's investigation. This kind of creative habit or artistic pursuit that pays attention to the sense of scene and personal experience undoubtedly effectively strengthens the authenticity and sense of scene that prose relies on. From the perspective of the way of thinking, this kind of habit and pursuit clearly have another meaning.
Wang Guowei said: "All truths only exist in concrete things, which is no different from the only existence in ores, and the difficulty is only in searching for them." "Books cannot replace experience, and erudition cannot replace genius, and its root lies in the fact that abstract knowledge cannot replace concrete knowledge." Knowledge in books, abstract knowledge, and death;Empirical knowledge, concrete knowledge, is often alive. I don't know what Comrade Shangyang thinks of Wang Guowei's artistic proposition based on intuition, but his diligent pursuit of a sense of scene and personal experience in his prose reflects a way of thinking that emphasizes intuitiveness and practicality. "Drawing a picture of Qinchuan scenery, how many people are there in Chang'an?It should be admitted that this down-to-earth, back-to-basics way of thinking and its creative path are not only conducive to the writer's implementation of breaking through and breaking through in the context of networking and intelligence, but also showing the charm and mystery of literary creation in the ultimate sense.
What is good prose?Nowadays, the interpretation of the literary world has become more opinionated. However, under normal circumstances, prose works need to have a vigorous inner temperament, in order to "transform the eyes full of vitality", as Zhao Yi of the Qing Dynasty said, is still an extremely important aspect and condition. In this regard, "Climbing" has delivered an excellent answer sheet with a unique and innovative way of thinking, which is worthy of attention and study.
