"White Bone Order" is Sima Ling's early work, according to the time when the book was written, it should be only after the "Sword God" series, Sima Ling created "White Bone Order". From the perspective of my personal appreciation, I think that the "Sword God Trilogy" is not Sima Ling's representative style at all, and "White Bone Order" has the shadow of Sima Ling's peak in some details.
Many times, when you look at the early works of these "everyone", you will find some interesting situations, take this "White Bone Order" as an example, in fact, the overall plot is a little "scattered". I don't know if it's because of the relationship between **, some plots of "White Bone Order" are expanded too much, and some plots are too little.
For example, there is too much foreshadowing of Qu Shiying about "Little Yama" in the first third of the book, but in fact, when the story is in the most tense and critical part, Qu Shiying is not very valuable at the level of martial arts or at the level of plot advancement, even if Qu Shiying kills Dong Xiangmei's husband and is killed by Dong Xiangmei in the last part......, are all dispensable, and as for Qu Shiying's bet with the protagonist Wei Qianli, it is more like a "pit" that the author can't come back.
As for Wei Jingyuan, there are too few plots in the book. I can't know Sima Ling's true intentions when creating this character, but in my opinion, I think Wei Jingyuan should have a certain relationship with Wei Qianli, even if the two people are not blood relatives but only look the same, these two characters should have enough intersections to fully express the logic of "no coincidence is not a book". In addition, there is also a lack of some reasonable explanations about how Wei Jingyuan learned martial arts from the three-danger old Qiao Jin Moxie.
I like Sima Ling's literary style at his peak, and in "White Bone Order", the brushwork that vaguely reveals Sima Ling's shadow is reflected in two aspects, one is the description of "Qingyang Daochang". In the whole book, Sanwei Lao Qiao is a "super existence", and his kung fu has reached its peak. And Qingyang Daochang, as an elder of a famous faction, "secretly" cultivated to become the ultimate kung fu, and this description method is reflected in many ** in Sima Ling's middle and late periods.
If the role of Qingyang Daoist is not enough to see Sima Ling's literary style, then the description of Cha Ji, Fan Taohong, and Du Dayun competing for the leader of the underworld alliance in the six northern provinces in "White Bone Order" can be regarded as the beginning of Sima Ling's peak penmanship. During this period, whether it is the description of the appearance of the characters, the development of the fight, or the writing of the psychology and aura of the heroes from all walks of life, it can already be seen that Sima Ling has completed the transformation from the "Sword God Trilogy" at this time, and began to have his own literary style, and the influence of this literary style has extended to Huang Yi.
"White Bone Order" can't be said to be unwatchable, but it is certainly not "excellent" on the whole. In addition to the above-mentioned divergence in the characters, the plot of the story also seems to be a little "off-topic". In the opening chapter, it can be seen that the author wants to write a story based on Yushuzhuang, and it seems that the story should probably be related to the love ......and hatred of "White Bone Sanying"., but in the end, not only did the "Nine Evils in the World" appear have no connection with the White Bone Gate, but even Dong Yuanren, the great villain who has been shaped for a long time in the first half of the story, does not even have a chance to "appear" at the end of the story. Of course, the "White Bone Order" emphasized in the title of the book is not necessarily related to the main line of the story, and I wonder if the author originally wanted to build a grander story, but it ended hastily for various reasons.
