Lin Bingyuan

Lin Bingyuan is a native of Nanchong, Sichuan, born in 1932. In 1951, he participated in the revolution, became a member of the Communist Party of China, and became a soldier of the 9th Company of the 86th Regiment of the 29th Division of the 15th Army of the Chinese Volunteers.

In 1951, Lin Bingyuan entered the DPRK with the army. In the Battle of Shangganling, he performed outstandingly. After recapturing the main positions, about 1 company of the enemy counterattacked under the cover of tanks. After Lin Bingyuan detoured back to the enemy's side, he threw grenades and grenades in succession to defeat the enemy. When he approached a depression, he found two platoons of the enemy gathering, and he bravely went straight in, killing more than 20 of the enemy. In repelling the enemy's counterattack, he constantly carried out the front charge and killed and wounded a large number of enemies. He killed and wounded more than 140 enemies in this battle. Because of his outstanding performance, Lin Bingyuan was awarded the title of "Second-Class Combat Hero" by the Volunteer Army, and recorded special merits.

Lai Yongze

Lai Yongze was born in December 1932 in Youxian Township, Mianyang, Sichuan Province (now Fucheng District). He joined the army in January 1950 and joined the party in 1953. In October 1950, he entered the Korean War. In July 1953, during the seven-day battle of Heiyun Tuling, Lai Yongze and his comrades-in-arms repelled many attacks by the "joint **", and Lai Yongze alone destroyed more than 100 enemies.

Tan Bingyun

Tan Bingyun was born in Jiangjin County, Sichuan Province, in 1921. On May 24, 1951, during the defense of the Fifth Campaign to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, Tan Bingyun's company was ordered to block the enemy on a hill next to the road from Linjie to Ziyinli and cover the transfer of troops. He blew up three enemy tanks and one car in succession, killing many of the enemy, and playing a major role in ensuring the safe transfer of troops. He was awarded the title of Hero of the First Class and the Medal of Honor of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea for Soldier of the First Class.

Liu Guangzi

Liu Guangzi, born in 1921 in Hangjinhouqi, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is a member of the Communist Party of China. He joined the army in 1946 and distinguished himself in the War of Liberation and the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea. In the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, he single-handedly captured 63 enemies alive, and his prestige was far and wide.

He was awarded the "Order of Soldier of the 10th Class" and the title of "Lone Hero of the Second Class" by the Supreme People's Committee of the DPRK, and was awarded the honorary title of "Lone Hero" by the General Headquarters of the Volunteer Army. Liu Guangzi was demobilized and returned to his hometown in 1958, and successively served as the head of the township armed forces, deputy secretary of the party committee, and deputy director of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress. On July 7, 1996, Liu Guangzi died of illness at the age of 75.

Gao Shouyu

Gao Shouyu was born in 1928 and is from Changle, Shandong. He has experienced many hardships and tribulations since he was a child, and he knows the importance of defending his homeland.

In the Battle of Shangganling, Gao Shouyu performed outstandingly. He held position No. 6, and in the face of heavy enemy artillery fire and group charges, he fought alone with his wounds, repelling six South Korean charges. In this battle, he completely annihilated more than 120 enemy troops, showing extraordinary combat effectiveness and strong will. His heroic performance made the enemy intimidated, and for a time he was unable to attack the position. Therefore, he was awarded the title of "Lone Hero" and received the first-class merit of the Volunteer Army. His deeds were widely praised and he became a heroic representative of the volunteer army.

Guan Chonggui

Guan Chonggui was born in 1924 in a poor family in Meihekou City, Jilin Province. In 1947, he participated in the Northeast Democratic Alliance Army, and in October 1950, he went to North Korea with the 42nd Army of his unit, and served as the deputy squad leader of the 2nd squad of the 1st company, 1st platoon and 2nd squad of the 375th Regiment.

In the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, Guan Chonggui's unit participated in the Battle of Shangganling. Guan Chonggui led the whole class of soldiers to garrison the 614 heights in Longtouli, and in the face of the enemy's attack, he calmly commanded, led the whole class of soldiers to fight bravely, and repelled the enemy's attacks again and again. During the battle, Guan Chonggui was seriously wounded, but he insisted on not getting out of the line of fire and continued to command the battle. In the end, he led the whole squad to hold the position, killed and wounded more than 50 enemies, and successfully completed the mission.

Guan Chonggui's heroic deeds were widely disseminated, and he was hailed as the "Shangganling Hero" and was awarded the honorary title of "Second-Class Battle Hero". His deeds have inspired countless people and become a legend in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea.
