Ningde, December 23 (Wu Yunjie) Ningde City, located on the northeastern coast of Fujian, was once known as the "first fault zone" on the southeast coast of China due to the frontline position and traffic bottlenecks in coastal defense.
After 45 years of continuous expansion and opening up, Ningde has maintained more than double-digit growth in recent years, and has been ranked among the recently released "Top 100 Foreign Trade Cities in China in 2022", ranking 40th in the country.
The Zhangwan Operation Area, located in the Sanduao Port Area of Ningde Port, is the epitome of Ningde's open development, with convenient water and land transportation, and an economic hinterland that directly radiates northern Fujian, eastern Jiangxi, southern Zhejiang and other regions. Lingang Industrial Zone, adjacent to Zhangwan operation area, has put into operation a large number of advanced manufacturing projects such as SAIC Passenger Car Ningde Base, CATL New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., and Chinalco Southeast Copper, and a large number of products and raw materials are imported and exported by sea.
**The reporter recently walked into the Zhangwan operation area and saw batches of "Ningde-made" cars exported from here to all over the world. Since the launch of automobile ro-ro exports in March this year, Ningde Port has exported more than 10,000 new energy vehicles.
The new energy vehicles exported by Ningde are mainly produced by SAIC Motor's passenger car base in Ningde. The base project landed in Ningde City in 2018 and is the new energy passenger vehicle production project with the largest design capacity in Fujian Province, with 26 vehicles produced in 2022190,000 units, the production of models are exported to more than 60 countries in Southeast Asia, Europe, South America, the Middle East and other regions.

Sha Hao, head of the Fujian base of SAIC Anji Logistics Export Vehicle Project Team, said that the first export of new energy vehicles from Ningde Port to Thailand has increased the intensive efficiency of the port by nearly 30% compared with the first automobile ro-ro export of Ningde Port, and the loading operation time has been shortened by nearly half, effectively saving the operating costs of enterprises.
Since the beginning of this year, Ningde Port has continued to maintain a high production trend, and new export business types such as new energy vehicles, sulfuric acid, and new shipbuilding are carried by semi-submersible ships to empower the economic development of the port. Local shipbuilding enterprises give full play to the traditional advantages of the shipbuilding industry, innovate and develop multiple types and specifications of ships and offshore equipment, so that "Ningde-made" ships can go to sea.
Ningde's ships have a certain degree of recognition in overseas countries. Lin Yuliang, deputy general manager of Fujian Yihe Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., told reporters that after a one-time export of 18 engineering ships to African countries in October, the company once again undertook overseas orders, and currently 6 new barges are under construction.
