Born in 1927 in Hengshui City, Hebei Province, Lantian Yeyuan's name was Wang Runsen, and he moved to Beijing with his family when he could not walk.
When he was a child, Lan Tianye didn't like to talk much, he was very quiet, and liked watercolor painting, Chinese painting and paper cutting. Until middle school, Lantian Ye's best homework was art.
When he was 10 years old, the Lugou Bridge Incident occurred, and the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression broke out. Immediately, Beiping fell.
The young Lan Tianye tasted the taste of the slaves of the country, and saw the invaders acting recklessly in their own land, killing people and setting fires, and doing all kinds of evil, Lan Tianye was both frightened and angry.
In the war, Lan Tianye lost his father, grandfather and grandmother one after another, leaving only his mother and siblings to rely on each other.
In the years when the Japanese invaded China, the Chinese people were struggling to make a living, and the young Lan Tianye saw with his own eyes that many people were living on the streets and could not eat. Sometimes when he gets up in the morning, Lantian Ye will see people who have frozen to death or starved to death on the streets. His heart ached faintly.
Lan Tianye, who loved painting since childhood, originally wanted to be a painter, but that all changed in 1945.
In 1944, at the age of 17, Lan Tianye was admitted to the Oil Painting Department of the National Beiping Art School. In order to realize his dream of being a painter, Lan Tianye worked very hard, and after walking more than ten miles to the school every morning, he immediately devoted himself to creation without taking a break.
The following year, Lan Tianye's third sister Shi Mei, who had been adrift for several years, suddenly returned home. Shi Mei's return not only brought joy to the family, but also brought new ideas.
Under the influence of his sister, Lan Tianye's life trajectory has undergone a big change.
Shi Mei is an underground member of the Communist Party of China, and this time she came back to be instructed by Wu Guang, deputy minister of the Jinchaji City Industry Department, to engage in underground work in Beiping and develop the underground party force.
Under the influence of his sister and the progressive literature she brought back, Lan Tianye embarked on the road of revolution.
That year, 18-year-old Lan Tianye used his painting expertise to help his sister print promotional materials.
After some time,Lan Tianye, a supernumerary, became an underground traffic officer, often riding a bicycle between Xizhimen and Xishan, going back and forth between the occupied areas and the liberated areas to deliver documents and materials.
On September 23, 1945, Lan Tianye was introduced by his sister and honorably joined the Communist Party of China.
Because he was in an enemy-occupied area at the time, Lan Tianye did not hold any ceremony on the day he joined the party, nor did he take an oath, but he silently made up his mind in his heart:If you are a party member, you will give everything you have to the party. Listen to the party all your life.
The reason why he chose to join the Communist Party was that on the one hand, he did not want to be a slave to the country, and on the other hand, because after comparing the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, Lan Tianye deeply realized that only under the leadership of the Communist Party can China see hope!
During this period, in order to change and publicize the ideology of the Communist Party, the underground organization established the Party Branch of the Beiping Drama Federation, and Lan Tianye was also a member of it.
At the same time, while participating in the troupe's performance, Lan Tianye cooperated with *** and did not forget to secretly develop party members.
In this way, out of organizational needs, Lantian Ye embarked on the road of acting.
Since 1946, Lan Tianye has been a Kuomintang major in public appearance, and he usually wears a Kuomintang military uniform.
In 1948, as the Kuomintang reactionaries intensified their surveillance of their troupes and began to spy on their contacts with the Communist Party, in order to preserve their strength, they ordered Lan Tianye and others to withdraw to the liberated areas.
In order not to affect relatives and friends in the Kuomintang region, the organization instructed everyone to give themselves a pseudonym, and since then, Wang Runsen has changed his name to Lantian Ye.
However, the situation was already very tense at that time, how could we evacuate safely?After some thought, Lan Tianye set their eyes on the new captain of the troupe.
This captain was just sent by the Kuomintang, and after Lan Tianye and other comrades saw the new captain, they were very enthusiastic, and the new captain was a little surprised.

After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Lan Tianye continued to engage in acting career, and at the age of 25, he became the first batch of actors in Beijing Renyi.
Although acting was not his original dream, Lan Tianye took this profession very seriously with the idea of doing one line of work and loving one line.
In order to perform well, he spent a long time experiencing life, working as a worker in a glass cement factory, doing farm work in the suburbs, and feeding livestock.
In 1953, Lan Tianye's "Second Master Qin" in "Teahouse" amazed everyone as soon as he appeared. And this is inseparable from his efforts.
For this role, Lan Tianye traveled all over the large and small teahouses in Beijing, carefully observed the guests, clerks and storytellers in the teahouses, and also had close contact with entrepreneurs in Beijing, observing their words and deeds, and pondering repeatedly.
