Suzuki Australia has announced the launch of the five-door version of the JIMNY in the Australian market, with the XL model being included in the top of the JIMNY range.

The five-door version of the Suzuki Jimny is produced by India's Maruti Suzuki, while the Jimny XL introduced to the Australian market measures 3,985 mm, 1,645 mm x 1,720 mm in length, width and height, with a wheelbase of 2,590 mm. In terms of appearance, it continues the three-door version of the boxy and hard-core appearance, coupled with the clamshell hood, square wheel arc and other designs designed for off-road considerations, you can see its off-road nature at a glance. The front radiator shroud maintains an upright five-hole mesh design, while the rounded LED headlamps give it a retro look, while the flared wheel arches give it an off-road look. At the rear, there is a full-size external spare wheel with a colour-coloured cover, a side-opening tailgate, and taillights and license plate frames on the rear bumper.
Some of the features include automatic LED headlights, Suzuki SmartPlay Pro+ system, a 9-inch** touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto connectivity, cruise control and a four-speaker audio system, as well as six airbags, hill start assist, ESP, hill descent control, reverse camera and Dual Camera Brake Support System.
In terms of power, the Jimny five-door version is also equipped with the K15B 1A 5-liter naturally-aspirated inline-four petrol engine mated to a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic gearbox produces 105hp and 134Nm of torque, as well as an AllGrip Pro all-wheel drive system with a mechanical afterburner design for off-road demand.
The five-door Jimny, which debuted in January this year, is one of the most anticipated products among off-road fans around the world, offering more space for cargo and passengers, and a price that has been the focus of much discussion, and is currently only available in markets such as India, Africa and Latin America. However, it is still launched in the right-hand drive market, and it remains to be seen whether there will be a left-hand drive version.
