According to South American journalist Cesar Luis Merlo, the 36-year-old will be reunited with his former teammates Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba in the MLS. In Gremio's 1-0 win over Vasco da Gama, Suarez bid farewell to Gremio with a goal.
Suarez joined Gremio in January and has contributed 24 goals and 17 assists in 52 appearances. His contract with Inter Miami will be one year and may include an option for a one-year extension. Suarez's arrival has further enhanced Miami International's profile globally.
