Yuedong No. 6" and "Yuedong No. 10" shield machines were launched from the No. GX07 working shaft and the No. 12 working shaft of Fortress Town, Yujiao Town, Jiedong District. Among them, the "Yuedong No. 6" shield machine excavated from the GX07 working shaft to the GX08 working shaft, with a tunnel length of about 1,844 meters, and the "Yuedong 10" shield machine excavated from the GX12 working shaft to the GX11 working shaft, with a tunnel length of about 2,579 meters. During the tunneling process, the tunnel will pass through geological intervals such as silty clay and fully weathered argillaceous siltstone.

Deng Fangyuan, the project manager of the second bid of the follow-up optimization project of the Sanjiang water system connection, told reporters that the proportion of mud parameters will be strictly controlled during the construction to prevent the accumulation of muck, strengthen the control of tunneling parameters and the operation of the circulation system in the shield construction, pay attention to the changes in the tunneling parameters, and open the cutterhead scouring system in time to effectively prevent the cutterhead from forming mud cakes. At the same time, the shield will strictly control the attitude of the shield body, do a good job in protective sealing measures and control the process of each shift, and strive to achieve the goal of fast, efficient and safe construction.

It is reported that the "Yuedong No. 6" and "Yuedong No. 10" shield machines are expected to complete the tunneling task by the end of 2024. At the same time, by the end of January 2024, several EPBs will be ready to start.
