The story of Uncle Kurban riding a donkey to Beijing has been widely told in China.
In order to carry forward Kurban Turum's deep love for the Communist Party of China, the motherland, national unity and labor, the Hetian Prefectural Committee and the Yutian County Party Committee established a memorial hall in his hometown (Togerigazi Village, Togerigazi Township).
The museum was completed and opened in 2016 and has become a national patriotic education demonstration base.
The memorial hall is divided into two parts: the exhibition hall and the former residence, which displays more than 50 precious historical ** and materials, more than 10 handmade paintings and more than 60 physical objects of Kurban Turum during his lifetime.
Kurban Turum (1883-1975) was born in Yutian County, Xinjiang, and was a Uyghur.
Having lost his parents at an early age, he spent his childhood in the sheepfold of the landlord Bayi's family, where he was oppressed and discriminated against, and lived a difficult life.
After the peaceful liberation of Xinjiang in 1949, his life took a new turn.
In July 1959, he joined the Chinese Communist Party. He was a national model worker and a deputy to the Fourth National People's Congress.
More than 60 years ago, in order to express his gratitude to the Chinese Communist Party, Kurban Turum decided to ride a donkey to Beijing to visit***
After this story was reported by "People**", it quickly spread throughout the country, and even was compiled into the national primary school Chinese textbook in 1960.
On the morning of October 22, 2023, we came to visit this memorial hall and received a profound patriotic education.
We were deeply moved by the feat of Uncle Kurban.
