Tracing the Footsteps of Martyrs and Inheriting the Red Gene" Episode 1 - "Lenin Park". It is reported that Lenin Park is located in Hengfeng County, built in the spring of 1931, is the northeast of Jiangxi (later renamed "Fujian, Zhejiang and Jiangxi") provincial Soviet seat Geyuan people's rest and recreation. Fang Zhimin, who was the chairman of the Northeast Jiangxi Provincial Soviet, personally prepared for the construction of this park and named it "Lenin Park", which is the earliest people's park built in the history of our party.
Lenin Park belongs to the people's park in the true sense of the word. After the park was completed, it was open to all military and civilians in the Soviet district free of charge. From the chairman to the young children, they can relax and play in the park. Every major festival, the masses in the Soviet area will also hold some grand literary and artistic activities in Lenin Park, and the swimming competition of the first National Sports Games in northeastern Jiangxi was held in the swimming pool in Lenin Park. Lenin Park is a true portrayal of the Communist Party of China's efforts to improve people's livelihood and strive to seek a happy life for the people.
The tall and dense shuttle tree in the park was planted by Comrade Fang Zhimin himself, which has profound significance. According to folklore, the shuttle tree is the fairy tree of the Moon Palace, which cannot be cut down, and it is constantly folded, and it is evergreen. It symbolizes that the people's revolutionary struggle under the leadership of the Communist Party of China is indomitable, unstoppable, and bound to victory.
After the construction of Lenin Park, it was gradually abandoned until October 1934, when Geyuan was lost, and has now been restored. On April 25, 1985, it was approved by the people of Hengfeng County and announced as a county-level cultural relics protection unit. In 2000, the Provincial Department of Construction allocated a donation to carry out major repairs to Lenin Park.
