Confusing and fascinating——Xiangxi Guzhang returned from sketching to create a series of landscape paintings in the red stone forest Li Dajun 癸卯夏, I drove to the mysterious Xiangxi and found the ancient Zhang red stone forest. It's like a labyrinth on an exotic planet, and it's like a magic stone henge that is constantly changing. To walk here is to walk into the abyss of the ancient ocean. 
The earth's crust fission, the erosion of flowing water, and nature spent 500 million years polishing the wonders of the Ordovician red stone forest. Here, I witnessed the transformation of the sea into a mulberry field. Ancient fossils, cliffs, sinkholes, and deep canyons are all its masterpieces, and they are constantly changing. I was so excited that I drew a lot of sketches on the spot. When I came back, I wanted to paint a series of landscape paintings of the red stone forest, but I didn't know where to start. The reason is that traditional Chinese painting does not have this kind of stone landscape method, and it seems that it is necessary to have some new ideas in the traditional law. 
I have been accumulating for more than two months, considering that the foreign is used for China, using the perspective and light and shade of Western painting, using watercolor to enrich the changes, the light of oil painting, and then using traditional Chinese burnt ink as the line, and the stone method to create a kind of parallel line arbitrary drag expression. The composition is basically a slight shift or trade-off on the original scene, because the red stone forest itself has a unique shape and winding paths, and the picture is like entering an ancient secret realm. As far as the eye can see, as long as the imagination is rich, there is everything. 
Looking at the "Ancient City of Loulan", "Sword Piercing the Sky", "Stone Soldier Array", like encountering the ancient battlefield, imagining the battle of swords and swords, and the heroic spirit of the war drums, I borrow watercolor to enrich the changes and color the light of oil paintings;I have to calm down in the "Ancient City and Forbidden City", because the quiet and quaint scene is most afraid of excessive hustle and bustle, so I only use burnt ink as a line sketch. In the Red Stone Forest, you can't help but be amazed at how strange the gods can create such wonderful scenes out of stones, and you can't help but feel the urge to paint everywhere. Cliff sinkholes, mysterious pits, and even more amazing will be the magic of nature!
The red stone forest is not only strange, unique and ancient, but also beautiful and beautiful, especially brightly colored. The stones here are like coral reefs, covered with a layer of fine texture, with a delicate and beautiful "red**" and the color will change with the weather: purple red on a sunny day, brown red after rain, and then from brown red to purple red on the edge after the rain. In a blink of an eye, the fantasy changes, and the whole stone forest is like a magical and beautiful landscape painting.
