Since the end of 1927, Zhang Jueqian has experienced from the warmth of spring to the cover of ice and snow, from the hot summer to the cold autumn wind, he is like a lonely tree, no matter the thunder, wind and sun or storm, he has always stood firmly in front of his son's grave.

When Zhang Jueqian was thinking about the fate of the cow, he thought of his son again. His heart was full of conflicts, concerns, and worries, and he wasn't sure how long he could hold out or if he would be able to wait until his son's return, but he never had any doubts:

Zhang Renya was born in 1898 in Zhenhai, Zhejiang.
Zhang Renya began his career in 1919 in a silver building in Shanghai, during which time he was deeply influenced by Marxist and communist ideas. From then on, he began to travel from one silver building to another, taking advantage of changes in his work to disseminate Marxist ideas more widely.
In November 1922, Zhang Renya officially became a member of the Communist Party of China, when there were only 21 workers' members in the country. Influenced by his profound influence among the workers of the Shanghai Silver Building, he won the deep trust of the Shanghai Party organization.
In 1923, Zhang Renya led a strike of 1,600 workers, which eventually led to his dismissal from the Silver Building Company. After that, he never returned to the trade unions, but continued to engage in underground revolutionary activities. Subsequently, he went to the Soviet Union twice for further studies and organized the establishment of the official newspaper of the Shanghai Federation of Trade Unions, "Civilian**", and I worked in a party group with Zhang Guotao and Deng Yingchao.
So, how did these key documents fall into the hands of Zhang Renya?It turned out that he began his work shortly after joining the revolution and held many important positions. To understand this, we need to start with the Second Party Congress.
In July 1922, despite the unbearable summer heat and humidity in Shanghai, the 12 young men at 625 Fu Delhi could not contain their excitement and joy as they secretly represented 195 party members across the country at the Second Congress of the Communist Party of China.
At this congress, a total of 11 documents were drafted, including the first part of the Constitution of the Communist Party of China.
Zhang Renya used his life to preserve valuable documents for us.
Because Zhang Renya did not carry out public activities as a member of the Communist Party at that time, and because he had been engaged in work related to party affairs for a long time, some important documents of the Second National Congress of the Communist Party of China were entrusted to him for safekeeping.
After the "April 12" counter-revolutionary coup d'état in 1927, Shanghai was shrouded in the shadow of the White Terror, so Zhang Renya decided to return to his hometown in Ningbo with precious documents to hide, which is also the scene depicted in the play.
It is deeply regrettable that when Zhang Renya handed over a precious document to his father Zhang Jueqian for safekeeping, in order not to cause any trouble to his family, Zhang Renya chose to flee at night, which led to his eternal separation from his father in this life.
In 1951, after 24 years of waiting, Zhang Jueqian finally decided to dig out the precious documents in Zhang Renya's tomb and hand them over to the party and **. This shocking secret was made public, and Zhang Jueqian's 24-year commitment to this secret has touched the hearts of countless people.

Despite this, Zhang Renya's family has not stopped their search journey, and they continue to search through various means.
In 2005, Zhang Renya's family found a newspaper in the Shanghai Archives, and in January 1933, the "Red China" magazine published by the ** Soviet District prominently published a memorial article "In Memory of Comrade Zhang Renya".
It has been 78 years since Zhang Renya left home in 1927 until his family learned of his sacrifice in 2005.
On December 23, 1932, Zhang Renya, who was then a member of the Workers' and Peasants' Inspection Committee of the Chinese Soviet Republic, director of the Publication Bureau and director of the Printing Bureau, unfortunately died of illness due to long-term overwork.
Zhang Renya and his father spent their lives guarding 36 precious documents, which are now stored in the National Museum, the ** Archives, and the memorial halls of the First and Second National Congresses of the Communist Party of China.
Today, these precious documents are treasured in display cases, silently telling the world about that bloody and violent night a hundred years ago. Its owner, Zhang Renya, used his life to defend his firm oath when he joined the party, while Zhang Jueqian was willing to spend most of his life guarding his son's last wishes.

Originally, the screenwriter designed many lines for Zhang Jueqian in the play, and he thought that too many lines could enrich the emotional depth and personality characteristics of the characters, but after reading the script, Lin Yongjian also shared his views.
He holds the view that because Zhang Jueqian in the play can keep his mouth shut for 24 years and spend a long time by the well-dressed mound in the wilderness, his character should be taciturn, not easy to smile, and may even behave very cautiously and dullly.
In the end, the screenwriter accepted Lin Yongjian's opinion and deleted a large number of lines, which formed the special character of Zhang Jueqian in the play: there are few lines, melancholy eyes, heavy hearts, slow action, and sluggishness.
If we try to think from Lin Yongjian's point of view, we will find that the role of Zhang Jue Qiancai created by him is highly consistent with the character archetype. Because the fate of Zhang Jueqian's son is not yet clear, participating in revolutionary activities is also a kind of bloody and desperate behavior, plus he publicly declared that his son has died, how should such a character be shaped?
