Banchangyu is a village in Caoying Town, Haigang District, Qinhuangdao City, where the Great Wall of the Ming Dynasty winds through, and now there is a Banchangyu Great Wall Tourist Scenic Area. Banchangyu Scenic Area covers an area of more than 30 square kilometers, with beautiful natural scenery and many historical sites, and it is difficult to visit all the main scenic spots at one time, so I made two plans to visit Banchangyu.

The first main tour of the northeast of the scenic area. Along the Great Wall tourist highway in the north of the town of Zhucaoying to turn to the countryside road, through Banbi Mountain, Pingdingyu, Sandao River can reach, the scenic spots have nine cylinder waterfalls, Shijian Gorge (ancient volcanic crater), Yang Lai Lou and so on. Because it is not a holiday, we only have a group of tourists at the east gate of the scenic spot when we go to the scenic spot, so it is not only convenient to park, but also the scenic spot has become our special field, so that we can visit leisurely and calmly.

Jiudaogang Waterfall is located in the northeast corner of Banchangyu Scenic Area, more than 300 meters away from the east gate of the scenic spot. The trail winds along the valley, and at every bend you can see a waterfall hanging high above the cliff. When approaching, first hear the sound of the waterfall like a drum, see the waterfall again like practice, about 10 meters wide water flow from the top of the cliff more than 100 meters high to fly down, quite a bit of "suspected to be the Milky Way falling nine days" of the spectacular. The waterfall takes advantage of the mountain's momentum to smash nine deep or shallow stone pits on the cliff wall that resembles a step-like shape, like a "tank" of different sizes, hence the name of the Nine Cylinder Waterfall. Some people say that "tank" is not as elegant and subtle as "tank", and it should be called "Jiudaotan" more appropriately, but I think "tank" is more straightforward and simple, more down-to-earth, or "nine tank" is more in line with the true character of the people.

Stepping on the gravel across the valley, you will be in close contact with the Nine Tanks Waterfall. The water flow has gone through the layers of "tanks" and stumbled, splashing like jade beads, the mist is clear, cool and cool, and people are at the water's edge, "but they feel that their clothes are wet, and there is no point and no sound". The last "tank" of the waterfall at the bottom of the valley is particularly beautiful and magnificent, the water is formed into a deep pool, the pool water is bottomless, clear and translucent, and the green is like jade. The light mist flutters with the wind, like a brocade veil, and the sunlight shines through the fine water droplets, refracting into a dreamlike rainbow, looming in front of the chest of the waterfall. What's even more amazing is a twin ancient tree in the rocky bush by the pond, born for the water, growing for the mountain, and the mountains and rivers as a companion year after year, faithfully guarding the nine-cylinder waterfall like visitors from outside the world.

Return the original way, go to the northwest direction at the entrance of the scenic spot, turn a corner and see the Shijian Gorge with thousands of walls. I saw that the cliffs on both sides of the canyon went straight up and down, towering into the clouds, and the rows of angular and orderly boulders looked like ancient bamboo slips that slowly opened, and the locals gave it an image and elegant name "Shi Jian Yan". According to geological accounts, the agglomerates of this feature are formed by the in-situ cold contraction of magma that has not been ejected from the throat, which means that the presence of such rocks often indicates the presence of a nearby crater.

Sure enough, in 2004, geologists went to Banchangyu Scenic Area to investigate, and they stumbled upon these "stone slips" and then proved that the Banchangyu crater was formed in the late Jurassic 100 million years ago. According to reports, most of the craters in the world are Cenozoic and modern volcanic craters, and Mesozoic ancient craters like Banchangyu are very rare, as experts say: "The existence of craters is not a miracle, but it is intact and preserved 1The 100-million-year-old crater is a real miracle! Therefore, the Banchangyu ancient crater has also become one of the five highlights of the scenic spot. Chasing the gurgling stream, passing through the Shijian Gorge, stopping at the 100-million-year-old crater, climbing the steep "South Heavenly Gate", overlooking the rugged mountains and rocks, looking up at the blue sky and white clouds, people can't help but have a lot of emotions about the night and the night.

Passing through the ancient crater, passing through the large and small dragon pools, and following a winding gravel road to the depths of the mountain, you can reach the foot of the Great Wall. From this side of the Great Wall, although the road is a little far, but the slope is gentle, relatively labor-saving, and there are many unknown mountain flowers on both sides of the road swaying in the autumn wind, walking all the way to take pictures, you will not feel tired. Ascending the stairs from a small gate on the north side of the city wall, the first enemy tower we climbed was called the Six Eyes Tower. The Six-Eyed Tower is named after the six arrow windows on the north and south walls, which is also the difference between the Six-Eye Tower and other enemy buildings that generally have only three arrow windows. From the Six Eyes Tower to the east, the Great Wall rises up, but it is not repaired, and it is what we commonly call the Wild Great Wall. Climbing the foundation of the collapsed gravel wall, climbing up to another enemy tower on the top of the east mountain with both hands and feet, the field of vision is broader, and the distant mountains and near peaks are in full view. This is the boundary of the Banchangyu Scenic Area, and further east it is connected to the Pingdingyu Great Wall that we climbed before.

The enemy building on the west side of the Liuyan Building is called "Yang Lai Building", and the mountain pass between the two enemy towers is called Da Ankou (now known as Da Ankou) because of the shape of a saddle. The renovated Yanglai Building is a three-entry hollow enemy building, divided into upper and lower floors, repaired as old as the old, and the majestic posture is still the same. Yang Lai Lou was originally known as the West Building, it should be named because it is located on the west side of the Liuyan Building, why it was changed to Yang Lai Building, there is a singing and crying story in it: during the Liberation War, Yang Lai, the director of the Banchangyu Village Peasant Association on behalf of our party, was lured by the Kuomintang spies to this building and brutally killed. In order to commemorate the martyr Yang Lai, this building was renamed "Yang Lai Building".

After the Qing Dynasty, with the advent of the era of hot weapons, although the military defense function of the Great Wall is no longer there, it will always stand in the hearts of every descendant of Yan and Huang as a spiritual symbol of the Chinese nation's unremitting self-improvement and maintenance of unity. Generations of heroes and heroes like Yang Lai have gone forward one after another, built our new Great Wall with flesh and blood, resolutely safeguarded the territorial integrity of the country, and let all enemies who dare to attack have no return!
