Ukraine conscripted another 500,000 troopsZelensky: No one knows when the war will end

In the war-torn land of Ukraine, Zelensky is facing not only the cruelty of war, but also heavy pressure from within and outside. Recently, the Ukrainian military's proposal to call up another 450,000 to 500,000 soldiers was undoubtedly a bombshell that shook the nerves of the entire country. This proposal is not only "very sensitive" and costly, but also a great test for the Ukrainian people.

As the leader of this country, I am well aware of the weight of this decision. I know that every conscription order means the suffering and sacrifice of countless families. Public approval ratings in Ukraine are already deteriorating due to the ongoing war, and the implementation of this proposal could further complicate the situation. However, in the face of the harsh realities of war, we seem to have no choice.

According to reports, the new round of mobilization will deal a huge blow to Ukraine's economy, with an expected loss of up to 13% of GDP and nearly 10% of the labor force unemployed. This is undoubtedly worse for a country that has been ravaged by war. Our army, in its long confrontations with the Russian army, has gradually depleted its strength and quality. In this situation, we must make difficult choices to protect our country and our people.

On the international stage, I have always believed that the United States and our Western allies will not betray Ukraine. But recent events seem to show that they are hesitant to provide new aid to Ukraine. This wavering support has undoubtedly brought more uncertainty to our situation.

As a leader, I am well aware that no one can predict when this war will end. At the year-end press conference, I was dressed in a military uniform and faced various problems. I announced Ukraine's ambition to produce 1 million drones in 2024 and ruled out the possibility of mobilizing women into the army. At the same time, I agree to lower the minimum age for male conscription from 27 to 25 as a necessary response to the current situation.

Ukrainian forces have been at war with Russian forces since February 2022, and both sides see the numbers as a war that is not only a military contest, but also a test of emotion and will. Our front-line soldiers are exhausted, and they need to be rotated to recuperate. We are faced not only with the enemy on the battlefield, but also with the corruption of the conscription system and the fear of war among the people.

In general, Ukraine is facing a huge challenge, not just a military confrontation, but a comprehensive political, economic and social test. As a **, I am well aware of my great responsibility. At this critical juncture, I must remain steadfast and find a path for my country and people to survive and thrive. Although the road ahead is full of unknowns and difficulties, I firmly believe that as long as we are united, there are no difficulties that cannot be overcome.
