People's Daily Online, Beijing, December 12 (Jiao Lei) With the proposal of the "double carbon" strategy, the development of new energy vehicles has become an important path to promote the realization of the goal of carbon neutrality. At the 2023 World New Energy Vehicle Conference (WNEVC) held recently, Hou Jinlong, President of Huawei Digital Power Technology***, said that carbon neutrality has moved from global consensus to global action, and electrification of transportation is a key part of achieving the goal of carbon neutrality. Huawei Digital Power is committed to the high-quality collaborative development of new energy vehicles and charging networks, improving user experience, and accelerating the full electrification of the automotive industry.
At present, inconvenient charging, battery life anxiety, and low cost performance are the main problems affecting users' choice of new energy vehicles. Huawei Digital Power believes that in urban areas, within a radius of 1 to 2 km, in all highway service areas and gas stations, we will accelerate the construction of high-quality charging infrastructure, focusing on supercharging and fast charging, and solve charging problems and alleviate range anxiety through "wide coverage" and "ultra-fast charging".
According to Hou Jinlong, Huawei Digital Power will work with customers and partners to deploy more than 100,000 Huawei fully liquid-cooled ultra-fast charging piles in more than 340 cities and major highways across China by 2024.
Industry analysts believe that with the increasing maturity of the third-generation power semiconductors and high-rate power batteries represented by silicon carbide and gallium nitride, electric vehicles are accelerating the development of high-voltage supercharging. The overall high-voltage transformation will move from B- and C-segment vehicles to A-segment vehicles and commercial vehicles, further enhancing the competitiveness of electric vehicles. Car companies will also accelerate the pace of launching 800V high-voltage models, and it is expected that by 2025, there will be more than 150 high-voltage ultra-fast charging models on the market.
It is understood that Huawei Digital Power integrates digital technology and power electronics technology to provide enterprises with innovative high-voltage platform solutions to help vehicles continue to improve their competitiveness. In 2023, Huawei DriveOne will release a 900V high-efficiency high-voltage electric drive platform and mass production, achieving 200 kilometers of energy in 5 minutes. In the future, the energy replenishment time will be further shortened, helping car companies to move towards high pressure in an all-round way.
Hou Jinlong said that at present, the charging network should be positioned as a "new urban infrastructure", and the industry is at the inflection point of high-quality sustainable development. At the same time, it is necessary to improve the interconnection between the charging network and the power grid and the Internet of Vehicles, and promote the green and coordinated development of multiple fields such as sources, networks, loads, storage, and vehicles.
A prosperous ecology is the cornerstone of sustainable industrial development. Huawei Digital Power will continue to work with car companies, power grids, operators, and partners to build an open, cooperative, and win-win supercharging ecosystem, accelerate the process of transportation electrification, and build a greener and better future. Hou Jinlong said.
