The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 D GPU will be released in China next year, and we know more specs from leaker MegaSizeGPU. The GPU is designed in accordance with U.S. regulations and will be a slightly scaled-down version of the original RTX 4090, which was limited by the U.S. Department of Commerce for exceeding 4800 points in TPP (Total Processing Performance).
The rating was designed by the U.S. Department of Commerce to ensure that China does not have access to advanced chips that would give it an edge in AI computing. This means that Nvidia will have to take a slight step back in terms of the specs of the GeForce RTX 4090, which is also said to feature the new ADA Lovelace GPU SKU. This new SKU is called the AD102-250 and is a castrated version of the AD102-300 GPU on the RTX 4090.
Based on the latest information, it seems that we have obtained more details about the clock speed of this particular GPU. It is reported that the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 D GPU has a base clock rate of 2280 MHz, which is even 45 MHz higher than the RTX 4090, while the boost clock frequency is 2520 MHz. There is no information yet on the core configuration or memory specifications, but the card will most likely retain 24GB of GDDR6X memory, with more than 1 TBS bandwidth and more than 400W TGP.
What's more, the MegaSizeGPU says that the development of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 D GPU is still on schedule. Despite some harshly worded statements from the US Secretary of Commerce, it looks like Nvidia is working with the US authorities to ensure that the latest GPUs they have launched for the Chinese market are fully compliant with the latest regime. In terms of pricing, the upcoming gaming GPU will be priced similarly to the previous RTX 4090 model, with an MSRP of 12,999 yuan, which is close to $1,800.
