On December 19, the 2nd China Meteorological Tourism Industry Development Conference was held in Sanmenxia, Henan. The 2023 Typical Cases of Online Popular Meteorological Tourism were announced at this meeting, and Ningxia Twenty-One Scenic Spots Shahu Bird Country (Bird Watching) won the title of "Typical Case of Meteorological Landscape", which is a high recognition of the wetland environment and bird resource protection in the Shahu Scenic Area.
This meeting carried out in-depth discussions and exchanges on "meteorology empowers the high-quality development of the tourism industry". As the highlight of this conference, the 2023 typical cases of popular online meteorological tourism were officially announced at the meeting. A total of 50 typical cases of meteorological tourism in 6 categories, including China's natural oxygen bar tourism, climate health care (summer vacation, cold shelter, livability), ice and snow tourism, meteorological landscape, meteorological research and travel camp, and meteorological landscape viewing hotel, stood out from the fierce online voting.
Ningxia Shahu Scenic Area is famous for its unique natural scenery and abundant bird resources, attracting countless tourists and ornithologists every year to watch and study. As an important migratory bird corridor in China, millions of migratory birds make the "Sand Lake Bird Country" based on the 21 scenes of Ningxia. The scenic spot has successfully held 12 consecutive sessions of the Sand Lake International Bird Watching Festival, and has now become one of the major festivals in Ningxia's tourism industry.
Since the beginning of this year, Ningxia Shahu has launched the "Bird Star of the Month" on the basis of a good ecological environment, created the "Ten Scenic Spots of Bird Country", and launched new bird interactive projects such as swan feeding, cormorant fishing, and flying with wild geese, so that tourists can immerse themselves in the fun of bird watching.
