Press:
The screen has a green line, wifi and motherboard failures, and Meizu 18 series mobile phones have frequent quality problems.
If the insurance is over, there will be problems. ”
The cost of replacing the screen and motherboard is more expensive than buying a new one. ”
This dilemma has plagued many mobile phone users. Recently, Consumer Reports has received a number of consumer complaints about Meizu 18 series mobile phones. Their feedback also focused on the problem of overwarranty and the failure of the screen motherboard. In response, we conducted interviews and investigations.
Identified as "non-man-made damage".
You can only replace the flawed screen?
Shenzhen Mr. Li's Meizu 18 Pro was purchased in February last year. In August this year, the first faulty green line appeared on the screen of his mobile phone, and since then, the number of green lines has increased, accompanied by some purple lines and white lines, which occupy a large area of the screen display, seriously affecting the daily use of the mobile phone.
The order record is provided by Mr. Li.
The vertical line of the mobile phone screen is faulty.
Mr. Li said that he had called the official customer service, the official repair center and other official channels, and the reply he received was that "the mobile phone needs to be repaired at the user's own expense when it is out of warranty". He thinks that the screen cost of about 1500 yuan is unreasonable, one is that the mobile phone has "dived" many times, and the second-hand ** is about 1000 yuan, which is far lower than the screen replacement cost. Moreover, Mr. Li emphasized to reporters that the mobile phone is used by the elderly at home, and it has been used for more than a year, and it has not experienced bumps, and there are no human factors such as broken and scratches on the fuselage. On Meizu's official forums and other social platforms, the phone has also had the problem of green lines on the screen after warranty. He believes that mobile phone manufacturers should be held responsible for the defects of mobile phones.
As of press time, the staff of the offline repair point replied to Mr. Li that it had been identified as "non-human" damage and would provide a free repair plan, but could only replace a defective screen with scratches. Another plan is to add 1,000 yuan to buy a new Meizu 20 machine. But these two solutions are difficult for Mr. Li to accept, because the 20 positioning and configuration are lower than the 18pro, and it is not reasonable to add money to a mobile phone with a lower configuration. What's more, if it weren't for the Meizu product problem, the original phone would have been able to be used normally and would not need to be replaced.
Ms. Zhu from Wuxi also encountered similar failure problems and trade-in plans.
Her Meizu 18 Pro was purchased in April last year. In May this year, after upgrading her mobile phone to flyme10, she began to heat up frequently, even when she was looking at the web page and shopping**, she could also heat up, and the battery of her phone dropped faster than before the upgrade. Later, her phone had a green line on the screen.
The order record was provided by Ms. Zhu.
The vertical line of the mobile phone screen is faulty.
According to Ms. Zhu, after she initiated a complaint, Meizu contacted her and offered two plans, the first of which was to exchange 1,800 yuan for Meizu 20 at her own expense. The second option is to replace a scratched defective screen for free. Ms. Zhu said that she noticed a number of Meizu 18Pro green line failure cases on multiple applications such as Ku'an and Zhihu, and most of the time periods of the problem occurred in the second half of this year, and the suspected factor used Samsung's OLED screen. She believes that the defective screen is also used, and the life may be limited, and the three-month warranty period after replacement cannot cover the problems that may be encountered in subsequent use. As of press time, Ms. Zhu and Meizu reached a consensus and agreed to exchange for Meizu 20Pro at their own expense of 1,900 yuan.
The cost of replacing accessories is much higher than that of second-hand mobile phones**
Mr. Ma's Meizu 18 Pro in Chongqing was purchased in May 2021. Since July this year, his mobile phone has had some malfunction problems, first he can't connect to Wi-Fi, he can't turn on the hot spot, and then the green vertical line appears on the screen, and in August, his mobile phone has no sound (can't hear each other), after-sales maintenance is CPU desoldering, and the sound module of the mobile phone also has problems.
The order record is provided by Mr. Ma.
Mr. Ma showed the reporter the hotspot network sharing error and the green line fault at the edge of the screen.
Since Mr. Ma's mobile phone is out of warranty, the after-sales repair plan is to replace the screen (1650 yuan) and motherboard (2700 yuan) at his own expense. After he filed a complaint, the after-sales service provided him with a maintenance subsidy of 300 yuan. But Mr. Ma thinks that this maintenance subsidy is just a drop in the bucket, and the second-hand ** of the same mobile phone is only more than 1000 yuan, and it is not meaningful to replace the screen and motherboard. At present, his appeal is that he is unwilling to replace the screen and motherboard, and only hopes that Meizu will carry out simple repairs to the motherboard to meet its needs as a backup machine.
In fact, the Meizu 18 series, screen vertical cable failure, Wi-Fi problems have been repeatedly complained. The reporter noticed a number of similar complaint cases on the black cat complaint platform.
Some complainants said that their Meizu 18Pro had changed the motherboard three times, and even after spending money to replace it with a new phone, it still had a black screen problem.
Some complainants complained that the Meizu 18S Pro motherboard was damaged, resulting in the loss of their work data twice.
There are also complainants who say that the Meizu 18 has a serious fever, accompanied by a poor signal, the power consumption of the mobile phone is also relatively high, and even the phenomenon of burning Wi-Fi has appeared.
According to the reporter's understanding, the Meizu 18 18 Pro was released in March 2021 and is equipped with a Snapdragon 888 chip. At that time, because of the power consumption and heating problem of the chip, the Snapdragon 888 was nicknamed "Fire Dragon 888". Mobile phones equipped with this chip all have varying degrees of heating problems. There are also some models caught in the "motherboard wifi failure" storm.
Consumer Reports sent an interview letter to Meizu about the consumer complaints mentioned in this article, but did not receive a reply by press time. We will keep a close eye on the latest developments in the relevant complaint cases.
