In order to strengthen the capacity building of the community eye health service system and the construction of professional talents, the three-year action plan project for the standardization and capacity improvement of the ophthalmology clinic of the Xuhui District Community Health Service Center was recently launched in the Xuhui District Public Health Center.
In accordance with the requirements of the Shanghai Municipal Action Plan for Promoting Eye Health, Xuhui District will establish an ophthalmology medical alliance of the Eye and Otolaryngology Hospital affiliated to Fudan University, district-level hospitals and community health service centers, improve the two-level eye health information platform in the urban area, strengthen the two-way referral mechanism, and clarify the construction standards of district-level standardized ophthalmology.
According to the project plan, Xuhui District will focus on improving the capacity of community ophthalmology diagnosis and treatment and eye health services, introduce modern community ophthalmology diagnosis and treatment and health care service technology and equipment, broaden the connotation of community ophthalmology services, and build a hierarchical diagnosis and treatment pattern with the support of the professional advantages of the Eye and Otolaryngology Hospital affiliated to Fudan University, steadily improve the level of eye health services at the grassroots level, and meet the common eye diseases, vision problems and eye health care needs of community residents.
The Eye and Otolaryngology Hospital affiliated to Fudan University is the only eye and ear nose and throat specialty hospital in the city, and the ophthalmology department ranks among the top three in the country, with a wealth of subspecialty professionals and technologies.
