Minister of Roads and Transport Development of Mongolia SByambatsog today presented scholarship certificates to 97 students with academic performance, witnessing the birth of Mongolia's future stars in the field of roads and transport.
Mongolia's road and transport sector, which is the main driver of Mongolia's economy with around 50,000 employees, has set up a scholarship program for the first time this year to support the development of human resources in this field, with about 200 students applying.
At the awards ceremony, SMinister Byambatsog stressed that this scholarship established in the name of the Minister will become an annual tradition and the opportunities are equally open to all. The 97 undergraduate students come from foreign universities in South Korea, Russia, China, as well as Mongolian National University, Mongolian National University of Science and Technology, Mongolian National Railway Institute, University of Finance and Economics, Dazasa International University, etc. They excelled in the field of roads and transport and received a confirmation of the scholarship from the Minister of Roads and Transport Development in person.
Around 22,000 new jobs are expected to be created in the road and transport sector by 2030. As of 2023, a total of 3,614 students are pursuing road transportation majors at universities in China and abroad. This year, 1,025 new entrants from domestic schools and 490 new entrants from foreign schools chose the field of road and transport as their academic direction.
Going forward, we will pay special attention to further increasing this number and developing more young generations of road transport professionals. The Ministry of Roads and Transport Development will continue to support academic excellence and inject new vitality into Mongolia's transport sector.
