After the author delivers the manuscript, we start the publication process and wait for the topic to be approved.
Step 1: Review the manuscript
After receiving the manuscript, there will generally be a simple preliminary review, through software + manual review, reduce the manuscript format, typos, punctuation marks, etc. Simple polishing, and then submit the manuscript to the publishing house.
Step 2: Typography design + three reviews and three proofreadings
In general, publishers will review and typeset design at the same time, which can save time and efficiency. This process is about 1-3 months, and it is also related to the quality of the manuscript and the number of words.
Step 3: Apply for a book number
The publisher will usually submit the application for a book number at the end of the review and wait for the approval of the document. Paper books not only have a book number, but also need to be filed with CIP, and generally there will be CIP about two weeks after the book numberThe e-book number does not need to be filed with CIP, and the speed will be faster. This cycle takes about 1-2 months. Basically, this step will take place at about the same time as the cover.
Step 4: Make a sample book
After the book number is down, the content of the manuscript and the cover of the book can be finalized, and the sample book can be arranged. By the time the book is published, most of the work will involve the author and finally make the book well.
