1.The National Democratic Alliance Army of Myanmar (MNDAA), representing the Kokang people.
The NLD was established in 1989 and is headquartered in the Kokang district of northern Shan State. An estimated 5,000 MNDAA soldiers took part in the operation.
2.The De'ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), which has been in existence since 1992, operates in northern Shan State. An estimated 8,000 TNLA troops participated in the operation.
3.The Arakan Army (AA), founded in 2009, is headquartered in Rakhine State. It is also active in Karen, Shan, Kachin and neighboring Chin States, as well as Magway and Sagaing districts.
In addition to other areas of operation, the Arakan Army has deployed about 3,000 troops in northern Shan State.
4.The People's Liberation Army (PLA), the armed wing of the Communist Party of Myanmar (CPB, founded in 1939).
The Communist Party of Myanmar formed the People's Liberation Army (PLA) after a military coup in 2021. The People's Liberation Army (PLA) is also active in northern Shan State, based in the Sagaing area. An estimated 500 military personnel were involved in the operation in northern Shan State.
5.The Burmese People's Liberation Army (BPLA) is a resistance group formed after a military coup in 2021. Active in Kayin State and northern Shan State. An estimated 200 PLA soldiers were involved in operations in northern Shan State.
6.The Karenni National Defense Forces (KNDF) are a resistance group formed in the wake of the 2021 military coup.
The Karen Defence Forces are active in Karenni and southern Shan States. KNDF fighters are coordinating operations in northern Shan State.
7.Mandalay People's Defence Force (Mandalay PDF), one of the armed forces of the Civil National Unity (NUG).
An estimated 1,200 CDF fighters were involved in operations in northern Shan State and in the upper Mandalay area.
8.The Mogoke People's Defence Barracks (Mogoke PDF) was established in the wake of the 2021 military coup and is part of the Civilian National Unity (NUG). It is active in Mogoke Township in the Upper Mandalay region. An estimated 400 Mogoke PDF fighters took part in the operation.
9.National Revolutionary Army of Myanmar (BNRA).
The Burmese National Renaissance Army (NAA) is a local resistance group formed in the wake of the 2021 military coup that is active in Mandalay, Magway, and Sagaing districts. The National Renaissance Army (TAR) is also fighting against the ** Army, along with other resistance groups in northern Shan State.
10.Danu People's Liberation Front.
It was established in 2022 and is active in Shan State. It was also involved in operations in northern Shan State.
