On December 18, 2023, the 43rd World Amateur Go Championship ended the final round of the competition at the 1990 Cultural Center in Bao'an District, Shenzhen, with South Korea's Kim Jung-sun winning the championship with 7 consecutive wins, Chinese player Yang Chukun winning the second place with 6 wins and 1 loss, and Chinese Taipei player Lai Youcheng winning the third place with 5 wins and 2 losses. The closing ceremony will be held tomorrow. The 44th World Amateur Go Championship will be held in Tokyo, Japan, in May next year.

Yang Chukun lost to Lai Youcheng in the third round, and although he won seven in a row, he failed to face South Korea's Kim Jung-sun, who won the title with seven straight wins. There are as many as 9 players with 5 wins and 2 losses, and by comparing the opponent's points and decreasing opponents' points, Chinese Taipei's Lai Youcheng won the third place, and Japan's Yoshiki Kurita finished fourth.

Events:
Individual competition. Eligibility:
1) Each member country or region of the International Go Federation shall select one amateur chess player to participate in the competition;
b) Professional players certified by national or league Go organizations (including EGF and NAGF) are not eligible to participate in this tournament;
3) Former professional chess players (e.g. retired professional chess players) cannot participate in this tournament;
4) Those who have been approved or certified as professional chess players before the registration deadline cannot participate in this tournament.
Contest Method:
1) The competition adopts the rules of the International Go Federation, and the black paste is 6 and a half mesh;
2) The time of the game is 3 times of 30 seconds after 60 minutes of the basic time limit of each side, and the third time is the last 1 time count, and the overtime will be judged as a loss. The second countdown is made by a voice timer, and the players press the timer by themselves
3) The competition adopts a point arrangement system, and the number of participants determines the number of participants
4) If there are rare exceptions such as the three-tribulation cycle in the game, the game will be treated as no win. The two sides immediately re-played, and the extra time system is the same as that of the original chess game, and the extra time of the two sides will continue the remaining time of the original chess game.
Score calculation:
Grades are calculated and compared in turn:
1) 2 points for each game won, and the one with the highest score will be ranked first;
2) Compare the total number of opponents' points, and the one with the highest total number of opponents will be ranked first;
3) If the sum of the points and the opponent's points are the same, if it has nothing to do with the admission ranking, a tie is allowedIf it involves the admission ranking, the opponent's points in the first round will be removed and the total points of the remaining opponents will be compared, and the one with the highest total score of the remaining opponents will be ranked first;If it is equal, the second and third ......rounds will be removed in turnto compare;
4) Compare the wins and losses between each other (only two people);
e) Drawing of lots. Rewards:
1) The top 10 students will be awarded trophies and honorary certificates
2) The champion will receive an amateur 8-dan certificate issued by the Chinese Weiqi Association.
Arena Discipline and Anti-Doping Inspections:
1) If a player is late for 15 minutes (including 15 minutes) in each round, he will be given a waiver for that round. If it is less than 15 minutes, the deduction will be doubled within the time limit;
2) It is strictly forbidden for a chess player to bring mobile phones and other electronic devices into the competition area during the game, and once it is found and confirmed, the chess player will be judged to lose the game
3) Valid documents must be worn to enter the venue, and certificates are not allowed to be lent without authorization
4) Anti-doping checks: The top 3 players in the tournament and the 1-2 randomly selected players will be tested for anti-doping.
