Taking advantage of the sunny weather in the depths of winter, I asked my riders to travel and visit an ancient local ancestral hall again: the Yin Clan Ancestral Hall.
The ancestral hall is located in the Shiyuan Township, Cao'an Town, Huainan, in the south of the Shiyuan, about three kilometers away from the Shiyuan, and a cement road of "village to village" goes directly to the village.
It is not stated when the ancestral hall was built, but judging from the merit tablet donated by the ancestral hall reproduced in the ancestral hall, it should be the third year of Daoguang in the Qing Dynasty (1823), and it has been a full 200 years since then. The ancestral hall is well preserved, and in 2004 it was listed as a provincial cultural relics protection unit.
The ancestral hall has been greatly renovated in recent years, repairing the old as the old, basically retaining the original components, re-strengthening and painting, painting the wall, expanding the square in front of the ancestral hall and hardening the ground, and the appearance has been completely renewed, and it has become a local tourist attraction.
The overall layout of the ancestral hall: sit in the north and face south, the layout is regular, there are two courtyards before and after, divided into three halls in the front, middle and back, the palace is in the east-west direction, five bays, brick and wood structure, the architectural style is the Qing Dynasty Hui style building, the powder wall and the tile, the horse head gable. The whole ancestral hall is delicately carved and painted with gold and color. It has certain characteristics and ornamentality.
In the middle of the front hall is the gate and corridor, and there is a side room (side hall) on each side. There is a plaque of "Yin's ancestral hall" on the front of the door. There are four hairpins on the door, which are written with the words "loyal and generous family style" in seal style. A pair of stone drums stand on both sides of the threshold, and a pair of stone lions are placed outside the door, which is quite solemn.
The front hall is two floors, the upper floor is the stage, and the eaves are cornered.
The nave is 8 meters high, 16 meters long, 7 meters wide, heavy beams are erected, and the bucket arch is out of the building. There are no walls at the front and back, and they are carved lattice doors and windows. The middle is the corridor, and there is a plaque with the hall number "Dunlun Hall" hanging on the corridor.
Between the nave and the apse, the east and west sides are corridors, the east corridor is placed with a re-engraved merit tablet, and several agricultural tools are placed on the west side.
The apse is an altar hall and is 8 degrees high2 meters, 16 meters long, 7 meters deep. The back wall is a brick wall, and the front is a lattice door and window. There is an incense burner in front of the hall, there is the tablet of the ancestor in the hall, and there is a large long family tree (partial) and the portrait of the ancestor and the second ancestor on the north wall. Every important year, the clansmen will come here to worship.
Ancestral hall, also known as ancestral hall, ancestral temple, family temple, etc., is a place to worship and worship ancestors or sages, is a place to unite clansmen and relatives, is a symbol of Confucian traditional culture in our country, its building group is often more magnificent and magnificent, and ancient bridges, ancient towers, ancient temples have become a unique cultural landscape in the place, with high historical value.
Note: The shrine is usually unattended, and the door key is kept by a special person, and there is a contact on the door**. Next to the ancestral hall is the village committee, and you can also go to the village committee to inquire.
