Huanglong Ancient Temple,Also known as Snow Mountain Temple, it is located next to the colorful pond at the top of Huanglonggou in Songpan County, Aba Prefecture, Sichuan, at the foot of the snow peak of the main peak of the sleeping mountain. In the past, there was a temple on the mountainside and at the foot of the mountain below it, which were called the former temple and the middle temple respectively, so this temple is also called Huanglonghou Temple. Founded in the Ming Dynasty, it has a long history of more than 600 years, covers an area of 2,100 square meters, the quadrangle courtyard system, the hall is heavy and the eaves rest the mountain style building, it belongs to the Taoist view of the universe.
The old "Songpan County Chronicle" recorded: "Yu to control the water to Maozhou, the Yellow Dragon to help Yu control the water, from Maozhou up, there is the Minjiang River ......."After the Yellow Dragon cultivated and went, the five-colored landscape was left in the world, the world built a temple, and the years were worshipped. ”
Legend Dayu when the water, first from the Minjiang River, but he to Maozhou (now Mao County) is difficult to advance, so there is a yellow dragon to help Dayu, the boat traveled, dredged the Minjiang River. Huanglong was born and died for Yu, and helped Yu go through hardships-".Dredging nine rivers and descending nine demons and eighteen monsters”。When the hundred rivers enter the sea, the water and land are distinct, and the great success is completed, and when it reaches the foot of the snow treasure top, Huanglong stays there and does not leave. Huang Long was reluctant to enjoy the knighthoodAnd retreated to the two seas of Muni, and then crossed the white deer to Zanglong Mountain (now Huanglongshu) to practice, get the way to feather away, leave the five-colored landscape in the world, the descendants build a temple, the years of pilgrimage.
Every year from June 13 to 15 of the lunar calendar, the Yellow Dragon Temple Fair is held. During this period, the Tibetan, Qiang, Hui and Han groups of people in Sichuan, Gansu, Qingdao and other provinces traveled together and rushed to Huanglong Temple to pray for blessings and pilgrimage.
The main hall of the Huanglong Ancient Temple, that is, the Huanglong real hall, there is a plaque under the eaves, and the plaque is inscribed: wonderful and true.
About the meaning of "wonderful and true". There are many ignorant scholars who believe that the state of wonder is a Buddhist term, but it is actually wrong
First of all, let's look at the word "wonderful existence", which actually comes from the Tao Te Ching. Lao Tzu's description of the Tao mentions wonderful words many times, such as: ".Mysterious and mysterious, the door of all wondersTherefore, there is often no desire, in order to see its wonderIt can be said that the wonderful word refers to "Tao"!Later generations specially created one of this - "Tao Miao"!Lao Tzu repeatedly discussed existence and non-existence, believing that the Tao that cannot be seen or touched is the real "existence"!It is believed that that is the origin of the universe, and the so-called Tao Shengyi, although it is invisible and inaudible, but it really exists: "Seeing it is not known as Yi, hearing it is not famous as Xi, and it is not known as being famous." These three cannot be interrogated, so they are mixed into one. There is no darkness on the top, and there is no ambiguity on the bottom. The rope cannot be named, and it returns to nothing, which is called the formless form, the image of nothing, and the trance. ”
Again, let's look at the "real world":
The true state described by Lao Tzu is the Tao: "In a trance, there is an image in it."In a trance, there is something in it;There is a fine in it. It's very true!Among them are letters. From ancient times to the present, its name does not go to read the public. ”
To sum up, in these four words, wonderful, existent, and true, all describe the realm of attaining the Dao, that is, "the realm of wonder and truth". Therefore,"Wonderful and true realm" is definitely not a product of the integration of Buddhism and Taoism, originally from Lao Tzu, later generations used these four words to summarize, is the Taoist description of the realm of Taoism.
