Sancho is still hopeful of salvaging his career at Manchester United, but he is also keen to return to Borussia Dortmund. This has left Erik ten Hag to come up with a fresh explanation for Sancho's future.

The 23-year-old was ruled out of all Manchester United first-team activities following a public altercation with Ten Hag in early September. Sancho's refusal to apologise, accusing Ten Hag of scapegoating him and lying about his absence from the Arsenal game on 3 September is likely to lead him to leave the club when the transfer window opens in January.

The Manchester United winger is said to be closely linked with Juventus, who are eager to increase their creativity.

Recently, however, rumours have been mounting about him returning to his former club Borussia Dortmund. Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund are reportedly in talks about a blockbuster swap over the long-term goals of Jadon Sancho and Liverpool.

Now, according to Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenburg, Sancho is keen to return to Dortmund in the 23-day transfer window.

However, it is unclear whether Dortmund will be able to afford the deal. Although Sancho takes 22 a weekA hefty £50,000 salary is an issue, but his willingness to move gives them a bigger chance. According to Plettenburg, the idea of bringing back Sancho has the support of everyone at the club and Dortmund are trying all sorts of ways to bring home the player, who has made 23 appearances for England.

However, Plettenburg said there is no direct link between Sancho's side and Borussia Dortmund at the moment, and he has downplayed the extent of progress in the deal.

Surprisingly, Sancho is said to have little else to go without a move to Dortmund, and he is not interested in a move to either Juventus or the Saudi Pro League.

Now it is reported that if a move to Borussia Dortmund is not possible, Sancho is hoping to make a fresh start at Manchester United and get a second chance for the Red Devils.

Rumours of a move to Borussia Dortmund have caused a stir at Old Trafford, with the winger's future once again being the talk of the town at Manchester United's press conference.

Ten Hag responded with an update when asked if he thought the £73million winger would leave Old Trafford in January next year or if he had a chance of being forgiven.

What happens, he knows what he has to do and if he wants to come back, it's up to him,' said Ten Hag. 'It's a culture where every player has to meet certain criteria and that's it. ”

While not exactly giving the green light to Sancho's return, it seems that Sancho still has a chance to get a second chance at United if he apologises for his actions. If he does, it seems that Ten Hag will welcome him back in training and give him another chance to prove himself.

One thing is for sure, and that is that United may indeed need an in-form Sancho in the right winger position.

Although he has only scored or assisted 18 times in 82 games, nowhere near his performances at Borussia Dortmund, he is certainly better than Antony, who currently occupies the right winger position.

Since joining the Red Devils for £85 million, the Brazilian has not been in great form, contributing just eight goals and two assists in 59 appearances and yet to score in 15 games this season.

Despite this, Antony was outstanding against Chelsea last Wednesday and his attitude was praised by Ten Hag. He looks to have a good chance of retaining his starting spot against Bournemouth on Saturday.

Next up is an important Champions League group stage against Bayern Munich, with United looking to turn the tide of the season with two important games and wins.
