Du Zhanyuan met with Duncan Charters, President of the International Esperanto Association

On December 8, Du Zhanyuan, Director of CIPG, met with Duncan Charters, President of the International Esperanto Association, and his delegation to exchange views on promoting the development and cooperation of the international Esperanto cause. Deputy Directors Liu Dawei and Yu Tao, and relevant responsible comrades of the International Cooperation Department of the Bureau and the All-China Esperanto Association attended the meeting.

Du Zhanyuan welcomed Charters and his entourage to CIPG. He gave a comprehensive introduction to China's long-term support for the Esperanto movement and the All-China Esperanto Association, as well as the extensive work carried out by the Foreign Languages Bureau in the field of Esperanto, and thanked the International Esperanto Association led by President Charters for its strong support for the cause of Esperanto in China and the All-China Esperanto Association. Du Zhanyuan pointed out that Esperanto, as a non-national language, has a unique role in promoting exchanges and mutual learning among different civilizations. He said that CIPG will continue to give full play to its advantages as a comprehensive international communication organization, and further explore cooperation projects with the International Association for the World in translation and publishing, first-class communication, talent training, and people-to-people exchange activities, so as to promote the cause of Esperanto to better promote cultural exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations.

Chairman Charters appreciated China's positive role in the international Esperanto movement, and highly affirmed CIPG's outstanding contribution to promoting Chinese culture and promoting the development of Esperanto. He said that Esperanto was founded to overcome cultural barriers and promote cultural exchange. The International Association is willing to strengthen cooperation with CIPG in international communication and Esperanto education, and use Esperanto as a carrier to promote mutual understanding between more countries and cultures.
