The missile launch method refers to the launch scheme composed of the launch base point, launch power, launch attitude and launch device of the missile, also known as the missile deployment mode.
Today, we will explain the three types of land-based, sea-based, air-based, and space-based launches according to the launch base points of missiles.
01 Ground-based launch
It is to use the land as the base point of the missile launch to launch the missile, which is divided into ground mobile launch and underground silo launch.
Advantages: 1. Rapid launch and high alert level;
2. The reinforced underground shaft launch or ground mobile launch can retain a certain survivability after being hit
3. High precision, diversified communication methods, and uninterrupted command.
Disadvantages: 1. With the improvement of reconnaissance methods, underground wells are becoming more and more easy to be discovered by the enemy, and they have lost their concealment characteristics.
2. The dependence of ground mobile launch on highways, railways and bridges is strong, and there are obvious road signs.
02 Sea-based launches
It refers to the use of the ocean as the launch base point of the missile, which is divided into two methods: surface launch and underwater launch, and the current launch of ballistic missiles adopts the submarine underwater launch method.
Advantages: As the base point of the launch, the nuclear submarine has the advantages of high speed and strong endurance, and can rely on the vast sea area as a cover to quietly launch suddenly, so as to give the enemy a sudden blow and weaken the enemy's early warning ability and reaction time.
03 Space-based and space-based launches
Space-based launches are based on air-based launches, and space-based launches are also known as space-orbital launches, but both space-based and space-based launches are currently subject to some agreements and treaties and are not currently deployed.
To sum up, the missile launch method refers to the launch scheme composed of the missile's launch base point, launch power, launch attitude and launch device, and the three launch methods are divided according to the launch base point of the missile: land-based, sea-based, air-based and space-based.
