Explosion risk assessment of petrochemical buildings

The "Guiding Opinions on Anti-explosion Management of Existing Buildings of Sinopec" stipulates the following provisions on the risk assessment of buildings:

1.The first shock wave parameters suffered by the building (including the peak incidence overpressure and positive pressure action time of the shock wave) should be determined through the risk assessment of the building, and whether anti-explosion treatment is required.

2.The critical distance judgment method can be used to conduct a preliminary screening of the building, and a detailed risk assessment can be carried out according to the screening results, and the evaluation work is undertaken by the quantitative risk assessment (QRA) agency recognized by Sinopec.

3.*Risk assessment requirements.

1) Shockwave parameters should be determined using a risk-based approach or a method based on the most credible accident scenario. Vapor clouds (VCEs), matter, pressure vessel bursts, and boiling liquid expansion vapor clouds (bleve) should be considered in the analysis scenarios.

2) For the analysis of VCE**, the TNO multipotency method, the Baker-Strehlow-Tang (BST) method, the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method, etc., shall not be used for the analysis of gas **. For the evaluation of **object**, you can refer to the relevant provisions of GB T 37243 and GB50089.

4.The benchmark of the ** shock wave fortification of the building shall be the ** shock wave parameter with a cumulative frequency of occurrence once in 10,000 years, or the ** shock wave parameter determined according to the maximum credible accident scenario.
